Crazy Busy is Good!

It has been a crazy busy kind of week but I got tons of things accomplished and that’s another week behind us and closer to the Viking coming home. The house has been easier to keep up with since getting my Dyson. I’m sure its just my imagination but it really does seem to take less time to clean the house now. I like being able to clean in a couple of hours every week or so. Lil Bit is slowly getting better about picking up after herself and keeping her room in better condition. I still have a few stray Christmas things to pack away that got over looked in the main packing. There’s still some major sorting for me to do with my clothes and household stuff to get ready for the move but I feel like I’ve got the handle on it all.

The Viking actually told me a real date today which is exciting because he must be fairly confident that it’s accurate or he wouldn’t have mentioned it. I’m sure it will get changed half a zillion times before he is actually here but I like to have a concrete # to work off. 64 days doesn’t sound like too much. We’ve already done 3 times that amount. The Viking and my therapist remarked that I seemed markedly better this week. Keeping busy makes me feel useful and keeps my overactive mind focused on something other than missing my Viking.

Norton the Attack parrot has his 3 year passport and is legal to be transported by either myself or the Viking. I’m talking out the finer points of the shipping crates for the 2 Great Danes. The crate builder is Irish and has taken his 2 Labs to and from Ireland with him several times. He says his vet authorized the sedation of the dogs and Delta had no issues with it. That is a huge weight off my mind because if the older dogs can be sedated then the long trip will be much less stressful for them both. The younger 2 will have to stress their way through awake but maybe we will slip them a valium too…lol…My heart was being ripped apart thinking of having to put either of our oldest down for fear of them not surviving the move. I’m more than willing to take the risk that the sedation may cause them to die in their sleep on the move but them being hurt and afraid in a crate wasn’t an option.

Although the animal portion of the move is progressing, the rest of the move TTD list is on hold until the paperwork that has been lost, dropped, misplaced and totally replaced is finally finished so we can start shipping household goods and get our visas. I’ll be pounding the pavement tomorrow to get the answers I need because these people refuse to answer the phone or return calls.

Lil Bit’s big 10th birthday celebration is all booked. I’m taking her and 3 friends/relatives to a sleep over at the Atlanta zoo the Friday before her birthday. We are having cake at a local pizza place the evening we get back from our night and day at the zoo. I think I’m going to get her a sleeping bag and good suitcase for her birthday presents. She was really excited that her best friend from school last year is going to be able to go with us. Her niece and older cousin are the other 2 girls going. It should be lots of fun.

The eviction process is started and all of the supporting paperwork is done. We just have to wait to hear from the court now or from her. Neither of us expects to hear anything from her. She’s employed the ostrich principle so far and I doubt that will change. She is signing for mail so our asses are covered at this point. I’m no longer stressed about it now.

GC cookie sales are in full swing and I’m hoping that all the emails I sent out Thursday will produce a few responses by Monday so I don’t have to start calling and nagging people. I got caught up on all of that paperwork last week too. Now if other people would just do their parts that troop would run so much smoother.

My family locally is in an uproar because my favorite cousin left his wife and 2 for a much younger woman that works at the daycare center the went to and that the whole family was friends with. I’m working hard to stay neutral. I can still love someone when they make decisions I don’t agree with. He’s an adult and I won’t judge him. I can’t say the same for the rest of the family. I’m so ready to be further away from all of the hurricanes around me.

The middle of the week brought thunderstorms, my 2nd period in 2 weeks and a migraine headache that has lasted for days. I’m leery to even say it is gone because it keeps cropping back up. Wet weather & my period means my back is killing me, cramps, stellar mood swings, ah the joys of womanhood. Irregular periods concern me because it may mean I’m menopausal which could severely hamper baby making in 64 days. I still ovulated 2 months in a row at the right time so I’m not too terribly worried yet.

I have already started working on the Viking Valentine. He says I’m over achieving on the holidays but I have nothing to do but plan ways to let him know how much I love, adore and miss him every day. I can’t write about it here because he reads but I will say that I will be using the next month as an excuse to send him ridiculous amounts of sappy sweet romantic gestures. We have an epic love and I am going to cherish every moment of it even those we are apart.

Take care my sexy pervy friends and love each other well. Life is short. Change is inevitable. Growth is optional. Happiness is a choice. Your life, your choices.

Great you're keeping busy Lee Ann and glad you're feeling better. I'm impressed at your getting the pets moved. A bitch I'm sure (pun intended lol)

All are welcome to an audience with The Magnificent One oldirtybacchus

Keeping busy was short lived. We are stalled in move efforts again for a month. We will figure it all out from the animals to the car it will all fall into place. I'm just chomping at the bit to get my Viking home again.

I'm not much of a pet lover. Reading about the dogs and imagining what they will have to endure in the move is tough. I do wish you the best with the move.

The Valentines thing sounds fun. I'm just relieved Viking can read...

Love your blog and good luck with the move, the eviction, the zoo time and valentines.

Hey Will,
Always lovely to see your comments and know you are cheering me on. Thank you for always commenting. As for my Viking, not only can he read but he is even more educated than I am...lol...

We are working on making the move as easy on the animals as possible but it will be stressful for everyone. Thank you for the moving well wishes. I'll keep you updated.

Hope life is treating you well.

Seems like you have things under control darling. Good for you! Times are most stressful when life seems out of control, when there are way too many things on our plate... but as we pick them off one by one we get a sense of control back, and we begin to see that light at the end of the tunnel.

Thoughts from the Garden...

It is nice to have that temporary false sense of control when we are getting things accomplished, isn't it? If nothing else I feel like I'm contributing in some way.
