 This is hard to hear/read but it was good advice given to me;
grieving is for the living. The best thing you can do for your dad is to let him go. Tell him it is ok for him to go. I know it will hurt you tremendously but it will ease.
Even my aunt, whose son died tree years ago, now sees time does help.
He is suffering on all fronts.

 Canyaz,

Yeah I know....I believe in the letting them go when in this situation. I told Dad early this morning that "we weren't giving up on him until he decided it was time to give up, but that if he got to the point that he was tired and ready to go it was ok" A while later he muttered his first coherent comment since I got there...he told my mom he loved her and he was tired of fighting.

I think my mom and I at least are as ready as we can be at this time.

 lol yeah that's for sure.....maybe I can find a beach some where and just veg out in a lawn chair or take a walk every day for a while.

Perhaps what you need to do is take a virtual vacation, you know, look at pictures of a place you'd like to visit once a day and just get away in your mind.

For example, a friend recently gave me a calendar depicting some places I'd really adore visiting, and...oh wait – guess you know the concept, and have something to use TOO.
