“The difference between a truly dominant man and a controlling one is that the dominant man needs and wants consent, whereas the controlling man doesn't even understand what this word means.”- Frank Nelson

Now, personally, I don't much get into this dominant/submissive deal. Honestly, I'd rather just have an equal relationship, where some days neither of us is stronger, and other days we can feel free to be weaker or stronger, and other days our partner can feel free to be the same. Personally, I'd be more than a little concerned if anyone were consistantly one or the other, because to me that would indicate a part of their life they have yet to embrace, a fear or issue yet unfaced. No offense intended to anyone. That's just my perspective.

However, I loved the Frank Nelson quote so much I just had to reaffirm it.

It however was Marquis de Sade that best explains my point of view, with my software engineer emphasis added. "IF it is the dirty element that gives pleasure to the act of lust, THEN the dirtier it is, the more pleasurable it is bound to be." In my case, the dirty element is if anything, a detractor from the experience. I prefer my sex to be an act of love and kindness. I can't help it. It's just the way I've learned to cope with the issues I've had to face. And I'm sure that in that respect, likewise there is a part of my life that I have yet to embrace. None of us are perfect.
