That was my immediate thought for the sales clerk when I asked if the toilet repair parts I was holding would work on an older toilet. It was a pretty personal question on her part. Not where she should have started if she was hitting on me. If she is trying to pick me up she should begin with a more encouraging, less accusatory line.

Oh, wait. Is a flapper part of a toilet?

If she asked you how your ballcock was she would be hitting on you. Ballcock is an old term for the fill valve.

Fill value could be pretty dirty too.
