Role in the hay play

With the current difficulty in face face meet ups, I've wandered back into some old fashioned chat rooms. I can enjoy a bit of flirting or even the occasional cybering. It can let you be creative and step outside your box.

However, I occasionally run into partners with such a preset agenda that I feel that I'm being asked to read from their prewritten script. I can enjoy focusing on a particular topic. I get requests for student/teacher things when they learn my profession. I don't understand went the woman tells me what to say and how to say it. Don't they want to be surprised?

The best role players I've experienced listen and react. They use the comedy improv technique of "yes, and . . ." When both role players are surprised at the end, it can often be a very happy surprise.
