 Depends on how proactive you are.

In my early 20s, I talked to my GP about having straws of semen stored and then getting a vasectomy. He stared at me like I had spontaneously grown a third eye, but that option does exist, and is worth it if you're really interested in planned parenthood.

I had a partner who had two children, and she was thinking about getting a tubal ligation. I did a little reading, realized it was a lot safer and less invasive for me to get a vasectomy instead, so I had one done.

There are really good reasons to us protection, but fear of an unwanted pregnancy doesn't have to be one.
