Another one of my 'seems-like-a-good-idea' moments..bleh

Why is it I always find something else to do when I'm pressing for time with a report to complete and send out by this afternoon? Instead of doing my work, I find myself adding yet another blog...for today, at least, I blame not starting the day right. I think its the looong night before that did me in.

This is my 'seems-like-a-good-idea' moment of reflection. Note to self - these ideas, generally are bad ones.

Met an old friend last evening. In my last job, she was the contact person representing my vendor in KL. That was a couple of years ago. I went up a few times for work and once, we kinda had a bit of a fling after one of those parties following a long weekend of work. Turns out she switched jobs and is now my colleague in the KL office. So she and her team were in town for a few days for work and we've been really busy so last night, being their last night in town, we went for dinner. Dinner was a good idea, we hit it off and we had fun. Bad idea - staying til they closed and not saying no to more wine.

So the restaurant closed and we took the conversation back to her hotel. At the back of my head, there was a voice screaming 'bad idea! meetings and reports due tomorrow!" but in line with the theme of 'seems-like-a-good-idea", I ignored it. So we went. There was a slight effort on my part to listen to that screaming voice in my head so I suggested we not go back up to her room and instead, hung out by the pool. Which somehow lead to hanging out til really late, and again, thought it'd be fun to jump into the pool. In truth, it WAS fun, and funny as hell

So this lead to us heading up to her room, stripping off wet clothes, drying out, making out, and waking only in the morning to rush to work for me, and her to the airport. This is where the bad idea sinks in - my clothes were still wet and even so, there was no way I was wearing the same dress to work today

I washed up, grabbed the only clothes that she didn't use over the few days and am now spotting a headache due to insufficient sleep, a little too much wine the night before, a black tank top that fits a little too snug and denim skirt that's a little too short, with shoes that thankfully, I kicked off before jumping into that pool, that doesn't match the outfit very well. And now, I'm disoriented as hell and mildly cranky.

My next plan of action - finish my damn report, grind through the day, call a cab and go home barefoot. Thank god I cancelled my meetings for today..
