Follow-up to Poll on Long Distance Relationships: Good or Bad Idea?
Follow-up to Poll on Long Distance Relationships: Good or Bad Idea? UPDATE 12/31/2008: Well, the verdict is in. Response 2 - Bad Idea is the winner. I received a telephone call from him today telling me he's going to marriage her. Sheesh...lol Thanks for the input! Hi all...Happy Thursday I posted a poll a while back about long distance relationships and I've drawn some conclusions...lol. Here were the choices and now updated with my results. Response 1:Good Idea - Distance makes the heart grow fonder! This applied to yours truly, AKA. When I fall for someone, I fall hard. Response 2:Bad Idea: It's too easy to get jealous and lonely when you're far from the one you love. This applied to him, AggieB85. He's lonely so he's looking. I haven't done anything to give him the opportunity to be jealous - Not my style, but maybe it should have been...lol. He had the audacity to tell me about running into some he dated in high school. I'm the one who's jealous...lol. Response 3: If it's a temporary situation, I think it is manageable, but what's the point if no one is going to make a move? I would consider the move, but I need to find suitable employment. I have been looking but a long distance job search isn't the easiest thing in the world to do...lol. Response 4: Other - Please share Writing is very therapeutic for me. I will admit I am hurting. Will the pain go away? "Time heals all." (I hope it's true). Thanks for listening...I feel better already AKA{=} |

I've never been a fan of long distance relatioships. It's hard enough having a 'local' relationship and keeping it fresh and loving and all that. Adding distance into the equation just makes it that much harder. I'm SO sorry to hear your hurting sweetheart. It will get better. Dive into your own life and get 'busy' doing something you love -tm

Does time heal all? Although I know that it is not what you are hoping to hear, the sad fact of the matter is No, it does not. The pain will never go away, not completely. what time does is allow you to live, to learn, to cope with that loss, that hurt. It will heal, but there will be a scar. And like a true scar, that emotional one won't hurt, per se, but will forever be there to remind you of the pain, to remind you that you lived through the trauma. Time changes pain, makes something useful out of it, but it never completely makes you whole again. K

We are far enough away to make the heart grow fonder, and close enough away, to meet in the middle. Wade xx
