Hello All & Happy WED to you,

Imagine my surprise when I checked my Yahoo news links and saw this fab little review by some experts putting Our site back in the top # 10. One day soon, I hope to see us at Number # 1 where we belong. All the changes going on around here and all the forward momentum has carried us right back to the list of Best Online Dating sites. In fact this site has more visitors then any other site.

I own a group page for this site over at FB and I shared the link there too. I did not care for the one word used to describe Our site " Hookup. " Yes that is what this social network can be used for. Yet there is so much more to this site then merely Hooking up. Men and Women , my sister for one, met their fiance/significant other on this very site. I have always thought this site was so much more then a place to get " laid. " This site can be anything our techs/employees/Owner deems it to be. I have met some of the best people I've ever known right here. My Prince Charming ? Right here. Family members use this site. My Best friends use this site.

Yes, in the review our site is at Number # 9 but we are climbing and with amazing members helping to create the magic and employees moving that magic forward there is no way we can fail.

Well sorta yes and sorta no. I'm sure that you have seen how the site is marketed on the Internet, a bunch of the ads advertise this site as just that, a site geared towards hooking up. There are great value adds in the way of the social networking features but even they, primarily hinge on sex.

And there's nothing wrong with that, every successful site has its special niche, this sites niche is that it is sexually oriented. Look at the graphic you chose for this post, a bare bottomed woman in a corset and high heels. Do you think they would have a pic like that on Match or eharmony, lol?

A lot of people toss this kind of thing around as evidence that this is not a sex or hookup site. You do realize that people who meet a partner here and go one to have a long term relationship (meaning 5, 10, 15 years) is pretty damn rare. Usually what you see are relationships that flare quickly, burn hot and then flame out (a lot of times very publicly. Can it happen? Sure. Is it the norm.

Nope. The experience of your sister and a handful of other people doesn't improve the odds of anyone finding his or her Prince(ss) Charming here. Even Dr Conru, the CEO, positions this site as being more sexually oriented (as compared to the other, more dating oriented sites), do you remember the PeakOrgasm paper he presented?

The site is what it is and it is the 800lb gorilla of its sort, which is a fantastic thing. I think it can be problematic when people try t make more out of it.

Yes, I know how the site is currently marketed with more of a sex angle then the other sites have or do. I have always thought of this site as the first social network of its kind. I chose the sexy image here to make my friends and visitors to my blog smile and laugh...It even has the words Thank YOU on the image. The only way the site made it to that list was through the hard work of its employees and the amazing members who choose to visit this site and engage with other members while here. I have heard that the sites you mention have some pretty wild profiles on them and sexual content. ALL dating sites exist for one reason..to bring people together.

I was not "tossing around" my sister or my friends lightly. I used their happiness as an example of this site and what it can achieve or help to achieve. Yes, folks join here hoping to fulfill their desires or hopes/dreams. Perhaps a certain sexual experience, maybe just to cam or chat with people..Not everything here has to be about one night stands. There is nothing wrong with one night stands but I know many people who have met their current partner here on the site,are engaged or living together. Yes, you can hookup here, it happens. Yet for my sis and my friends, they did find a happy loving relationship with folks they met right here in FriendFinder-x..in chat rooms, blogs or groups. I am not saying it will work for everyone..People are different and have different wants/needs. I was merely pointing out here (and at F that it does happen. The magic depends on the people involved. Some of the members who have met their partner here also dislike the use of the word hookup as it felt demeaning to them. They are entitled to their opinion just as I am. In life what you put into it, you get out of it. It all depends on how much you are willing to share/give to a relationship with another person. I did not say it will work for everyone here. I said I know people who have made it work.

Yes I read the PeakOrgasm paper while he was working on it. This site is known for adult meeting, adult sharing. In the beginning back in the 90's this site was totally different. It was the first social network. That is the image I like to hold onto. I am glad the site is still here, still being used by members all over the world. I was not trying to make this site more then what it is or was. Just celebrating my happiness as seeing my friends work being appreciated.
