The cage is open, but the tiger is asleep

Redheadinheat had a post up about a guy with an inappropriate cock-shot, and it inspired me to write this. I have been meaning to share it with you all for weeks:

There's an advert on TV here for a supermarket. Various scenes with two Koala bears sitting in adjacent gum trees talking about all the things you can buy in the shop. The guy bear is always trying to hit on the girl bear. One of the scenes goes like this:

(Australian accents)

Guy Koala: "Hey, do you want to come over? I've got a great bottle of Aldi pinot grigio"

Girl Koala (Doesn't sound very interested ) : "Have you got any of those cracked black pepper and sea salt crisps?"

Guy Koala (scratching his head with his back leg ) "No but I've got some nuts."

Girl Koala (disgusted) "Oh, I can see 'em!"

It always makes me laugh, every single time.

Haven't seen that ad here.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but they are not bears, although they do look like one. I sometimes call them bears, and I've been here most of my life.

I do know they're not really bears, but everyone calls them bears. You can see the advert on you tube.

Glad you were amused! You can watch the advert on you tube if you search for Aldi Neighbours sponsorship 2012 - this one is about a third of the way through the montage.

Yes, it does seem that way. We had Hayden Pantyliner or whatever her name is (I do know it really but I tried to spell it and it didn't look right and I can't be arsed to look it up ) on a chat show here last week, and she was particularly keen to point out the fact that she wasn't wearing a bra, implying that it would not have been allowed in the U.S. It was a bit strange actually - she was acting as if she was sitting there with her tits out, whereas she was in fact wearing a perfectly demure white dress and her bra-lessness wasn't that obvious until she mentioned it.

    Quoting  :

There used to be far more witty and funny ads than there are now - it seems to have gone out of fashion rather. Or maybe my type of sense of humour has gone out of fashion, lol.

no.. there's nothing wrong with your sense of humor. It's in much better shape than the things they call 'funny' nowadays. The kids and I used to compare old/new and talk about what makes the older stuff so much more wittier and funnier. It hasn't been a good exercise for them though, because they don't find most of the kids their own to be interesting enough.

Well I can't really argue about what is and what isn't funny - I mean it's like sex isn't it - what's good for one person doesn't work for another. I know my sense of humour isn't in line with some of today's comedy, but if younger people find new things funny I'm not going to tell them they shouldn't. Aldi ads are always brilliant. I don't think I've seen even one that wasn't funny. Sometimes they're dirty, other times just silly.

My favourite one is for baby wipes. Little girl (maybe 6, although I'm not good at guessing kids' ages) and baby brother sitting with two boxes of baby wipes in front of them.

Girl: My brother likes these wipes (points, price flashes on screen) and my brother likes these wipes (points, cheaper price flashes on screen).

Girl: And now I'd like to change my brother.

(PAUSE)

Girl: For a kitten.
