Where are they all now?

I was looking through some old business files today, before throwing things away in a clear-out.

Names sprang out from old correspondence - people I used to know and like, but haven't heard of for nearly thirly years. It made me realise how long ago all that was. But also how fast the time has gone. I wonder what happened to those people? Did they have happy lives. Are they even still with us? And what are they doing if they are.

Not being much of a one for social meadia, I don't keep up with people other than my actual current friends. To be honset I can't see the point, and it seems to take up so much of people's time. I have never had hundreds of occasional friends; I'm more of a lifelong committment kind of guy, and I keep in close touch with about six or seven special people. Maybe I have become a little reclusive as I have aged too.

Of course I could probably trace most of these people through the 'book or the tweeter or whatever if I actually wanted to.

But it set me thinking about the friends I have made over the years on these blogs. Some, like Amakamaria, Rose, V, Zandi, Wildfire and Stormyroses email me from time to time, and sometimes we up date each other with news. I love hearing from them.

Others: the Rainbowsox girls, Partygirl, Softasaswan, Sassicat, Skierchick, Bubblevisious, Jakedrake8, WillHe69You2, neofreone - oh far too many others to mention, I felt really close to, either because we had shared deep insights into our lives, or because they had helped me through hard times, or because I was helping them. But I have no way of contacting them now. Some dissappeared, some said goodbye, some just drifted away. Sadly I know, or I think I know, that TheRedheadinHeat sadly died all too young. Her amazing blog is still here and I never know whether it is appropriate to read it or not. Her take on everything was always so uplifting.

Most of these people left partly because they had dealt with what brought them here, or had more important real lives to get on with, but others were struggling with life and looking for difficult answers, and I often wonder, are they ok?

That's life here I guess. I don't usually worry about them. But sometimes I wonder where they all are now..........

I remember the Rainbowsox girls. They were amazing! Loved their blog and reading about their lives. So young, but so amazing, too! I wish everyone could be as accepting and well-adjusted as they were! I never knew about TheRedheadinHeat, but if her blog is still here, you should keep visiting. Her way of continuing to spread the joy.

I can tell you that Bubblevicious is doing well - I'm FB friends with her and follow her on Instagram.

There are some disappeared bloggers that I would love an update from, too...

Happy daze McDream, there were some corkers back in the day. You could really have some proper conversations.

I was reminiscing the other day about past friends and colleagues too, it inspired me to get back in touch with one or two. I'm hopefully going for a pint with one of the girls next week!

Yes, I think that's how I feel, but part of me worries that she died suddenly and might not have wanted her FriendFinder-x blog to be her permanent epitaph. On the other hand, she was open about her identity and her blog was not a secret, so maybe it's ok. I go and look sometimes, but it can make me sad so I have to be wary.

Acdtually I do have an off site email address for Bubbles, but I haven't corresponded with her for a while - say hello from me if you are in touch!

Yes, me too. I don't think she is necessarily gone forever - she had visited the blogs for a check in a year or two ago, and I think I might have an email address for her off site, although I don't know if it is still current.

Although ive been on site more than a decade, ive just found the blogs 3 yrs ago. I often wonder what happened to people from the chat rooms too. Even in this venue we become connected to people on a certain level. We know there are real humans with real emotions behind these words. Its nice that you are still in touch with some, there s a comforting feel to that. A certain continuity restores our faith in the online community....well some of the online community...lol.~

Sadly a few lovely friends I met on here have passed. We did catch up off this site till their passing.

Another friend has only a short time left to live. Some I have lost contact with. This is so much more than just a sex site. There are so many lovely people out there . I might not ever get to meet them, but they are still my friends.

That's interesting Jajo. I originally came to the site by accident and curiosity, and having found the blogs straight away, that was why I stayed - I don't think I would have otherwise. You are right - real people and real emotions.

I think there is a part truth in the often repeated comment from long time bloggers that the sense of community here has dissapeared. But I also think you make your own sense of community by virtue of who you choose to interact with and what you say. Thank you so much for making yourself part of mine!

I have a horrible feeling that is where we are heading more and more Marisia! I remember a great friend of my mother's with whom I kept in touch for years after my mother died saying to me "all my friends have died - I go to funerals more now than I go out to dinner." She said it as a joke, but I could see there was sadness there too.

I hope you manage to make the most of your friend's remaining time. And of course there was another username I should have mentioned in my post, wantitindeep.......say hello from me.

This Post -- is your heart. I LOVE it!

You're the main reason i still keep blogging. To me, it was a miracle to find someone like you on here. When you found my blog and commented on it the very first time - i felt the same thing i still feel, when you comment on my posts - an extremely deep satisfaction. Like i have been seen and i have been touched. and i am happy in a peaceful way, in a silent and deep way.

Thank you for being my shiniest treasure in the darkest of my days!!!

Oh V - what can I say? Thank you so much for such kind and appreciative words. You know your presence here is really important and valuable to me too. I so often find you give me a different viewpoint without even realising you are doing it, and I am always warmed by the way you seem to get what I am talking about without me having to try too hard to be understood!

It seems we're at the place where words fail.
Consider yourself deeply hugged!!

Not only fail, but are no longer necessary. HBH. ("hugging back harder" - I made that up.)

you just started a new thing there!!!

I almost found HBH on a license plate the other day, and got super excited! lol

And don't you just LOVE that place where words are no longer necessary? It's like you've reached the top level of a game and won the ultimate prize!
