My Ideal Man Has Changed - Or Have I?

My ideas about my ideal man have changed.

University students think differently and when I was at uni I thought differently from my mother. As a university student I was not interested in money or meals out. I had father's income and good food at home.

A bearded academic was what I was looking for, preferably wearing a black leather jacket. My ideal height was six foot five, because I was petite. Tall men made me feel protected and dominated.

My mother wanted me to find a safe, secure lawyer. Yuk. An overweight, over-opinionated lawyer in an office who holidayed in hotels was not nearly as amusing as a scrawny and intense anthropologist who spent summer in the jungle.

Businessmen bored me. Property developers had no morals. And people who introduced themselves as entrepreneurs - pardon?

Height is no longer important. A smaller man who can look into my eyes when we are standing, both barefoot, is very attractive.

Cuddly is - cuddly. Bald is becoming more acceptable. A nervous, indecisive or impetuous younger man does not impress me so much as a confident older man who can behave in a dignified and reflective manner.
