Getting recognized offline
Getting recognized offline Have you ever been somewhere and someone gives you that look? It's undeniable -- he has seen you somewhere - but where? He continues to stare at you enough to make you slightly uncomfortable. Later, he seeks you out when you're alone -- and actually apologizes for staring - saying that you look exactly like a woman he used to ...... know. By now you're blushing and your mind running wild. Could this business associate recognize you from your online life? You compare notes -- what area did you grow up in, maiden names, where have you lived. Nothing rings a bell. Perhaps you met because of a previous job but no, it's not that. Five full work days go by and the attention is noticable by others. This is your career. You can only hope he has enough class to forego mentioning his seen your ass spread in the pages of FriendFinder-x. This is the experience I went through this week in Columbus. Anyone else ever get recognized in "real life"? ~Tina |

Well Tina, looks like you left a lasting impression. I have recognized one of my customer's, and did a job for him. It was kinda strange but I never let on that I knew. Although he had contacted us to get together before hand.

My offline moment was hugely uncomfortable initially to me. I went to a meet and greet at a bar, and was only there for 15 mins, when in walked another manager from my job! He headed straight for me, there was nothing to be done but say hi to each other. He looked about as shocked as me. A couple of the ladies there knew him, apparently he had been attending much longer than me. Anyway, they told me he would be discreet, and so he has. The couple of times we've seen each other at work (we're in the same city, but not same office), neither one of us ever mentioned it. But talk about a shocking moment. CTim

It hasn't happened to me but I did recognize someone from FriendFinder-x. It was very strange. I live in a resort destination area and we get a lot of weekenders here. I spotted the lady in a grocery store and caught myself staring. She didn't notice me but it was unmistakably her as she has a very large photo layout here on FriendFinder-x and is a very striking, sexy woman. I did not approach her at the time but sent an email to her that I had seen her and hoped she had had a very nice weekend. . . . . She denied ever being here. Strange, since she was wearing a dress that she wore in a couple of her photos. Do you think she was miffed I hadn't said hello at the time??? It really surprised me.

YES this happened to Me a couple of weeks ago! I was at the Edgewater Casino standing in line at the ATM machine when a Man tapped Me on the shoulder and asked Me if I was Blondblue from FriendFinder-x. I didn't know what to say at first and I was with people who dont know about FriendFinder-x so I told Him that I didnt what He was talking about. I used the ATM smiled and said I hope He finds who He is looking for! I then found My Hubby and suggested that We should take our friends to another Casino.

We've had the opposite situation where we've run into people at swing clubs that we knew on the outside. One was a lady I met at a seminar and had a feeling was wild. And the other was a woman my wife worked with. Wife was freaked but we went and said hello as I told her we're all here for the same thing. And they want discretion as much as we do. In the past I ran into two ladies from FriendFinder-x. One at a bar and the other working at my customers office. I didn't say a word to either when I saw them and didn't send a message later. They don't want to know people recognize them from here.

I have had this happen more than once. The first was at a halloween MnG years ago in Reynoldsburg. I walked in and thought I recognized one woman but shrugged it off since everyone was dressed for the occasion... until she came up to me later and asked if I remembered her. When she spoke, I knew it was a recruiter that I had interviewed with a few weeks before. We ended up hanging out most of the night and having a few drinks and laughs. The other was much more uncomfortable. I took a position as a consulting manager and on my first day I assembled all of my consultants to do introductions... one of them was someone I had met once for lunch from this site. That was really uncomfortable from a HR perspective, but we talked briefly about it and as it should have been we both left it out of the office.
