Word of the day

Today's word is ORIFLAMME.

Oriflamme [OR-uh-flam] noun: a banner, symbol, or ideal inspiring devotion or courage

Example:
I feel that a Marine is the epitome of oriflamme, for me they just scream courage and dressed in their uniforms they show devotion and almost demand respect.

Did you know?
The original "oriflamme" was the banner of Saint Denis, a patron saint of France who is said to have been the first bishop of Paris. Middle English speakers referred to this red or reddish orange banner using the Middle French term "oriflamble," from Old French "ori flambe," meaning "small flag." From the 12th to the 15th centuries, French kings carried the banner into battle as a way of inspiring their troops. This tactic met with such success that, by 1600, English speakers were using "oriflamme" to refer to any group's rallying symbol.

So that example is just my personal feelings and I hope I didn't offend anyone out there that is in another branch of service. That was not my intention and I love every branch and respect any of them who fight for my freedom! Ok so that being said I just thought I'd drop a line and a word tonight and let everyone know I'm having a grand time with my folks and having my guy here was amazing for a few days as always. You'd have thought having my mom and dad here I'd have sent him off and just gone off and hung out and not missed him as much but ummm yeah...NOT. I miss him so much when he's gone but I do try to look at the next 4 weeks as a count down to the next time he comes to visit. But lets not dwell on that. We went out to the lake today and had a hot roast and I got eaten by the bugs lol and then I took them out to see the bears out the end of the road south. There were about 5 or so and it was cool to just stand and watch them. Anyway its late and I'm tired and still have to do some laundry. Hope y'all have a great night.
