Adios Muchacho

A feeling of sadness and longing that is not akin to pain, and resembles sorrow only as the mist resembles the rain.

-Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

On top of my health issues, the fact that work totally sucks lately, and Alfred leaving to visit her family for a couple weeks, I learned tonight we lost a friend here in Blogland. Many of you who have been around a while knew Kent as Naughtybookworm on the blogs. Kent had left FriendFinder-x and blogging to concentrate on his health, his education and his career. I heard today that he recently passed away at the Mayo Clinic.

Kent wrote of such subjects as dominance and submission, Buddhism, and a good bowl of pho. He was always interesting and always made me think. Someone that can make me think goes a long way with me. I think the best way to describe Kent was as a teacher.

Kent sent me the Lego Batman that shows up in some of my pictures. That Lego character accompanied me on my trip to London and Oxford and still resides in my camera bag. I'll always remember Kent when I see it.

Kent was also a fan of Warren Zevon. So this is for you Kent. Zevon wrote and recorded this after learning he had terminal cancer. It was on his final album, Wind.

Keep Me in Your Heart
by Warren Zevon

Shadows are falling and I'm running out of breath
Keep me in your heart for awhile

If I leave you it doesn't mean I love you any less
Keep me in your heart for awhile

When you get up in the morning and you see that crazy sun
Keep me in your heart for awhile

There's a train leaving nightly called when all is said and done
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sometimes when you're doing simple things around the house
Maybe you'll think of me and smile

You know I'm tied to you like the buttons on your blouse
Keep me in your heart for awhile
Hold me in your thoughts, take me to your dreams
Touch me as I fall into view
When the winter comes keep the fires lit
And I will be right next to you

Engine driver's headed north to Pleasant Stream
Keep me in your heart for awhile

These wheels keep turning but they're running out of steam
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Adios Kent.

I just found out. I was fortunate enough to meet Kent once. After many long and deep discussion, he remains one of my favorite friends and bloggers. Thank you for this tribute.

He did always say, "Enjoy every sandwich." didn't he? I hope he enjoyed them all.

I youtubed the song and it's amazing... It does take someone magnetic to hold your attention, so my kudos to him and your memories of him. People come into our lives and our hearts for a reason, and you have a reminder of the friend he was to you. Big hugs to you...

That whole Zevon album is good. He also does a cover of Knockin' On Heaven's Door that is really good on it. You should see the list of stars that collaborated on the album with him. I think Kent knew that he would go before he should just like Zevon did.
He hasn't been on FriendFinder-x for a while, which is a shame.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your Blogging friend.
I do not know any of his blogs, maybe he left before I joined.

You missed a good one. He was an interesting character. One day he would be talking about how to properly train a Sub and the next he would be teaching you how to "walk the path" of Buddhism. Nice seeing you.
