FREE OFFER: Wild, non-inhibited, unlimited sex for all!!

OK, let me make clear before you get mad at me that the title is just a joke, right? I was never in either the pimping or even porn business and it’s a bit late for me to get into them now, lol! It is just that we are at the very beginning of the last month of spring ‒ or is it really the first of summer? Anyway the blood tends to run faster so I thought this time instead of the usual Friday’s song about relationships (and that doesn’t always mean a typical «love song»...) to post a...sex song! Although if you care to read the lyrics carefully you’ll realize that it’s actually as much a love song too. If not only the latter...
The song is the same titled of ‒ now disbanded - Pulp’s 1998’s album «This Is Hardcore» (second only to their previous one, 1995’s «A Different Class», as their best). As some of you would probably know Pulp in essence were nothing more than Jarvis Cocker, their singer, lyricist, writer of most of their music and of course their undisputed leader (it’s no coincidence that he is the only one of them who continues his musical career but on his own and under his name now). For many Cocker is one of the more twisted personas who appeared ever in the British music scene (for others though he is just an original and one of the most lovable cynics that have ever existed!). In any case this is one of his more strange but ambitious too songs...Cocker has studied movie direction, he has directed ‒ credited or not ‒ many of the Pulp’s videos but he uses too that knowledge about the world of cinema and the images in the writing of his songs. And few other times he has put that part of his creativity so much into practice as he does in «This Is Hardcore».
You can tell that even from the music which has a very complicated ‒ for Pulp’s standards and not only...- structure, borrowing among other things from the cinematic arrangements, style and mood of John Barry’s soundtracks. But it is even more obvious in the lyrics which could very well be the synopsis of a script, complete with many shooting details and a very vivid imagery. In fact that is one of the (not a few...) sub-themes of the song, a very clever and not a little naughty play between the prefab reality on the screen and the actual one...But there are also many other things in it, either said straightforwardly or between the lines. You can’t really say when Cocker is speaking literally or metaphorically and if he is ironic or not at certain points...
But for me one thing is for sure ‒ and I think that he too wanted to put that across -, that this song just reinforces my already strong opinion of many years that everything in human connections but also in sex begin and start with the mind (preferably with a good part of fantasy thrown in which always comes more than handy). I could say something else too, that this song just proves that porn is useful only for people who happen to be alone for a long period of time and anybody who is with somebody and they truly connect doesn’t really need it...since they can make together the best, most inspired and most probably way less boring such kind of «movies». But this only my personal take on the issue and I can’t ask from anybody to share it and even more to go with it...
As for the ‒ very melancholic, if you come to think of it well and deeply ‒ rhetorical...or maybe not question that Jarvis asks at the end I would had a possible answer, if I ever got to give it to him: It’s very simple really, if of course things work well...You start from the beginning. Over and over again...Have then not only a great but sexy and very...sexual too weekend!

You are hardcore, you make me hard
You name the drama and I'll play the part
It seems I saw you in some teenage wet dream
I like your get up, if you know what I mean
I want it bad
I want it now
Oh can't you see I'm ready now
I've seen all the pictures, I've studied them forever
I wanna make a movie so let's star in it together
Don't make a move 'til I say «action»
Oh here comes the hardcore life
Put your money where your mouth is tonight
Leave your make up on and I'll leave on the light
Come over here babe and talk in the mic
Oh yeah, I hear you now
It's gonna be one hell of a night
You can't be a spectator, oh no
You got to take these dreams and make them whole
Oh this is hardcore
There is no way back for you
Oh this is hardcore
This is me on top of you
And I can't believe it took me this long
That it took me this long
This is the eye of the storm
It's what men in stained raincoats pay for
But in here it is pure, yeah
This is the end of the line
I've seen the storyline played out so many times before
Oh that goes in there
Then that goes in there
Then that goes in there
Then that goes in there
And then it's over
Oh, what a hell of a show
But what I want to know:
What exactly do you do for an encore?
Cause this is hardcore...

Just me but with all the ego left at the door...

No buddy, read better...He talks about a time he actually had sex, a fantasy of his or a combination of both...As for the other thing that you mention...well, what can I say, thanks for the compliment!
Although allow me to say too that...I was and I am always the same, you hadn't realized it till now because there weren't the appropriate conditions to...inspire me that much!
