Sorry to hear the news. They should keep their chins up though. My father in law's pulmonary fibrosis was proceeding just as fast, and then just stopped. He has been fine the last three years with no further deterioration. It may kick back into high gear at anytime, but who knows... The body is funny that way.

Either way, your old man FWB and his wife should take trips and enjoy life (and the world) to the extent possible. Doctors will always try some new treatment, and will never tell you to go home and live a little.
