Meet me in the Morning Weather like this reminds me that mornings are masterful regenerative events. Waking up hearing a breeze rattle the blinds with sunlight pouring through in moving geometric shapes. Words. A whisper. Coffee. Your needs: a desire to be outside to bask in the sun, to take in the glory of this morning. Not by yourself, though. Out of the corner of a bleary eye you effortless pull on panties and and let a t-shirt fall over your head, shoulders, and down your body. A dancing escape to the kitchen. An invitation to follow. And, of course, I do. Your gracefully moving around the kitchen. Cup in hand. Oblivious to th world but know I'm watching you, standing in the doorway. A hand comes out of nowhere to me. Your hand. Giving me a mug of coffee. A look over your shoulder. A devilish smile. Eyes focused, with a pursed smile, I sip the coffee. With your grace you dance past me, back to the room. A shirt and shorts thrown at me. You return with shorts. Barefoot, we sit on the stoop at street level. The skin of our feet rubbing against the hot cement sidewalk. Sipping coffee in silence. Looking through the air. Admiring the blue, the green. Everything is vivid. Refreshed. We finish our coffee. Return inside. After, with much delay, I fully dress. Give you with a soft, delicate but urgent kiss, making an offer. Beckoning a future benefit. Do you counter? --- "They say the darkest hour Is right before the dawn..." |
