The Homeowners Association

This is the only problem I have at the moment besides of not having a job here. It has been sitting here for a while. I have no idea how to fix at the moment. If you ever had dealings with a homeowners association. You probably know what I am talking about here. Since there is no affordability on getting a attorney. I have tried everything to get one to help me on it. They either are busy, want money, and must have income. I tried to call the State's Attorney's Office but it was way to late to do anything about it. Which I do not have coming at the moment. I tried legal aid they say I got to much assets. I am going to try the law school here in arizona see if they can do anything next. But anyways the problem right now is they want 1,295.00 on November 21 as of 2007. It is probably more. My sister does not know any common sense about this at all. I have asked her to take over the payments. But she wants everything split. But now the house is in my brothers in law name for legal reasons or whatever. I have notified the association of that fact and wrote a letter that my attorney at the time wrote a per diem of protecting the property for me. So it cannot be sold under any circumstances. I also told them of that fact. Well anyways my attorney at the time wrote a letter to my sister to turn back my mother's interest so that the per diem could be lifted. So far that has not been done. I guess my sister has ignored that completely. I tried to get my sister to pay the maintenance fee. She paid it up but did not bother to tell me of that fact but only for one month. Then after that I get this letter. I tried to pay my half of it. Then the association returned the check. The association did not want to get involved in the sister war's here. So they want everything in one name in one check. The association had agreed to do this in two checks now. Then change there minds. If they communicated to me first at the time. Then there was not be much of a problem. But instead they followed my sister in this mess. So I really do not know what to do in the matter. Now my mother has continuously wants to come home which my sister and her husband have ignored. So here I am thinking on what to do next. I just wish everything was not so complex ed. I know this is not anything sexual here. I just thought I put this in my blog here. So maybe others will not have to experience this kind of problem in there life.

Associations are the worst. Mine has rules about the color of your curtains.
A Previous one tried to ban dogs. We fought that and won.

Hello, oh my god the curtains wow that is inside your house not outside that is terrible. Anything inside your house is yours I think did not know they could do that and ban pets. The only rule we have is pick up the mess after they have done there duty somewhere on the complex. Then we have to make sure it is picked up for sure. Thanks for posting.

If the issue is just one of the association not wanting to take two checks. Just pay cash! However I think there's more to it than that. Who's name is on the deed? That is the responsible party. Sound's like there may be an inheritance issue. If so, the estate would be the party to pay the association fees until the estate is cleared.

Hello Bill, yes apparently it is a issue with them all of sudden here. They only accept checks I guess. Yes it is more to that for sure. Right now there has been to many changes to it. Right now it is in my brother in law and me. So we are both responsible. Yes there is a inheritance issue but do not want this to be hanging over my head forever though. Thanks for posting.
