The Education

I graduated with a high school diploma and then went onto college got a associates degree. Now I had taken various courses in different categories. My thought here does it make you smarter than anyone else? But the answer to this thought is not really. I had work experience might factor into knowing something more. Some people may think they know more than you but they really do not here. Now if you had the common sense factored into it. Now that might be different story all together. But if you did not have common sense or the know how to do things. It can have a devastated effect on you and your life. Being educated does not mean success either. Of course I have done more than I ever expected in my life. Hopefully I will be doing more as time goes by. I do know that I have the common sense. Just being thoughtful about the matter.

As a university student, I would say that college will make one more knowledgeable, not smarter. You will not become more intelligent from college. The other thing is one will only become significantly more knowledgeable if they pursue the information they are given by the college or university. If one does not then they are missing the concrete knowledge provided by college and the experience that a non-college lifestyle will give. In addition, there is a big difference between learning and knowing information. Those who take the information a university or LIFE IN GENERAL provides are the truly intelligent people. Many of the smartest people I know did not necessarily go straight to college, most have or are going because it is what is now expected of my generation. It is easier to get an education than it has been, but only those who suck the information they get from education and from real-world experience are the intelligent people. The people who put what they see both in and out of school into practice.

Roxy! Great post! I think you have given me a blog idea, babe!

Hello Nick, yes you are right going to college does make you more knowledgable in certain subjects not smarter in some respects. I know I went from high school one day and the next day I was college. Now that would be experience all by itself. Then later on I had my work experience. Yes it is easier to get a education and be able to afford it. Your welcome on the great post. Thanks for posting.

I will answer your question about being smart then others. I graduated high school and went into the work field. I know and understand physics becuase I know how to drive and control a 80,000 lb semi truck safely. And then I get those college "educated" people who cut a semi off. I am also aware of how liquid in motion reacts.

Then again, living in a college town of Weslyan University, I have seen college students step out in the middle of traffic with out looking for cars. City streets run through the campus.

Hello, yes I agree here too even if you have do not have common sense should be educated in school of life. Because it is important thing to have in life. If you don't it will show up sooner or later in your actions and thoughts. Thanks for posting.
