As a standard member I got in the habit of not reading them. Since I blog here only, I do not look at them. Even those I blog with. I learn about them from what they say in their posts and comments. I will say that when I was a gold member years ago, I did use it to look at the profiles of bloggers. Never bothered with home town folks. I wasted enough time doing that the first month I joined in March 2005. It's time consuming to read a profile and craft a letter for it. And then never get any response... blog on!

I always read profiles. It's always good to be informed and know with whom we spoke. A única alegria isenta de amargura é a de bem proceder.

As long as the profile is honest up front then there should be little confusion about sending an email to that person. However, there are some who have vague profiles and subsequently receive unnecessary emails from those who misinterpret the profile or do not take the time to read the profile..but just look at the sexy photos ...like buying a book and not reading it but just thrumbing through it to look at the pictures...LOL Chance's R

I always do. First I look if they are single. Then I look to see if they smoke, because I do and hate the people who harp on me about it.

I would if I were a paid member lol. On other sites ive noticed the same generic info or non at all(that actualy has to do with the person)..so im likely to skim through it.

I read a profile carefully before sending and email. Sometimes I find a reason not to send, maybe I am outside of their preference or maybe they said something about themselves that I didn't like.

It's my impression that men who do not read profiles are only after a "quickie", in the first place.

NO POINT IN SENDING A EMAIL IF YOU DO NOT KNOW A LITTLE ABOUT THE OTHER PERSON AND THE ONLY WAY TO DO THAT IS READ AND STUDY THERE PROFILE INTENSELY

Not any more. I used to read profiles but since I've become a lowly standard member I cannot view profiles. But I've come to accept that, I think I learn more about the women by reading their blogs.

Before I send a first email, I will read a profile in depth, several times. Then, as I'm writing that first email, I'll be flipping back and referring to it several times. The fact is that women on this site get lots of mail. If you don't understand something about her, your profile is going straight in the dumper. Besides, why would I want to waste my time sending email to someone that wasn't interesting, that I didn't feel comfortable with. How else will I know unless I read her profile?

I haven't viewed a profile in a very long time nor sent an email but when I was doing so, I always read the woman's profile thoroughly...more so to find reasons to not contact her such as missing information, 'prefer not to says', a complete mismatch as far as interests and purposes, and distance.
