Stop the madness!! The Gov of N.Y. is right...stop the madness. Let's evolve past this primitive gun culture at least get rid of these 30 plus shot killing machines. The trial of that Aurora shooter said 70 wounded..not counting the dead ..70 wounded!! How many bullets did he fire?? C'mon!! Get rid of these GODDAMN GUNS! Teachers with guns? OK fine, I predict no more school shooting, thank God. The mentaly unbalanced twisted freak will go somewhere else now. It's not that they hate ,they hate THEMSELVES! They feel like Rambo the wronged loner..with the power of thier killin machines in thier hands dishing out veangeance against a cruel world that somehow in thier messed up head deserves it. Get rid of the guns and and it's not the same or so easy to kill. No other way of killin is so attractive to the messed up mindset...wading into a crowd of people spraying bulletts watching peple scatter as you the "Hero" or whatever in your freakshow brain rationalizes wielding the assault rifle and the feeling of power you have never had before in your useless life or disturbed mind or whatever, It is not the same with a bomb or a knife or whatever the caveman NRA argument is.The gun is the thing that makes it happen for them. So now the schools have armed guards so the freak will just go somewhere else with the gun... Let's see...Hmmm... All EMT"S should carry assault rifles(Gotta match the firepower) all movie ushers,Mall employees,McDonalds cashiers,grocery store cashiers,anyplace where 10 or people gather cause ya gotta make it worth while to be able to shoot all those bullets ya got! Sorry NRA but we can't shoot our way out of this problem. Congress need not worry,they have security..it's all the rest of us poor sheep gonna be slaughtered. I wonder if the freakin brilliant talk show radio guys have security too?? Just sayin.. Let's get rid of the assualt rifles,stop makin the ammo,stop the madness! |

I just read your blog, even thou I am a Canadian, I do live in florida for the winter months and I have to agree with you. Very well put. And thank you for reading my blog and for the lovely compliment. Hug,s and Kisses sugar

I thought the suggestion of arming teachers was the craziest idea ever conjured up. Teachers are people from all walks of life. Regular blokes like the general population. They get ill like everyone else, and that can include mental illness. We must also consider the angle that putting a gun in a classroom is the same as putting a gun into the reach of all the students that are taught in the classroom. I wouldn't want my child in a classroom with a gun. I don't agree that guns in schools would send potential assailants elsewhere. I think it just makes the person in possession of the gun, the individual that is targeted first. As far as the NRA, well yeah we have a Constitutional right to bear arms, but we didn't get it until the second amendment. So why can't they see clear for us to amend again to limit arms. I do see your point though on whether eliminating guns will solve violent crimes. Last year, a NYS teacher was nearly killed when her coworker stabbed her 17 times with a screwdriver. It could have just as easily have been a letter opener, pen, scissors, or any number of common items. We need to change attitude. We need for people to be happier and less stressed. We need for people to sometimes take a deep breath and calm themselves down. AND, we need people that know they are right, to back off when they see someone agitated. "Don't count the days, make the days count"

Not sure that will help? In South Africa they are getting rid of guns at a staggering rate. You need special licences and that can easily take up to 3 years. Personally I could not get the licence and had to hand in my pistol for destruction at the police station. Yet crime is rampant - at an unbelievable pace! More violent crimes and murders than ever before. Why? Because all the guns used are illegal. And the average Joe on the street is just more helpless and defenceless than before. I honestly don't know what one can do to stop this - I just wonder if taking guns away is really the solution?
