Recovering from the holidays

I'm back!

Sorry for disappearing, but I needed to shut down for a while. When last I posted it was Thanksgiving. I ended up going through a lot the past two months. Where to start?

- My sisters car got stolen...twice. They eventually caught the punks, two year old whole stole the car and were sent to juvenile hall. However, they also stole the house keys, so big bro to the rescue. I had to redo the locks on her rented house doors and install new locks.

- My mom went through her surgery successfully. And then they found another clot going in the opposite direction, so she had to go in to have a stent put in in order to deal with the other blood clot. She's also been dealing with other issues, but needless to say, the stress on her, my dad, and me has been tough to handle. However, she's doing a bit better and her breathing has been much better now that the clots were taken care of and bypassed.

- My brother in law, well, my has been tight lipped about him. I have no clue how he's doing, but I hope he's ok. She's been really acting funny as of late.

- My oldest 's live in boyfriend, well, he was sent to the hospital with health conditions, and was put into the hospital. I have no clue how he's doing but my has been checking in with him.

Me? I was side-lined for a month with a terrible sinus infection. I've only now been able to feel like normal. I was hit with it just before Christmas, and knocked the hell out for two solid weeks. I was lucky enough that I had the vacation time to cover for it.
Plus, this Christmas was somewhat depressing. I barely had time to deal with everything in the house going on, and our family party felt sad in a way as we knew it was the last holiday party we were going to have in the house.
To add to the crap, my company didn't have a holiday party, and no one got a holiday bonus, including me. The company cleared over 7 billion in profit, and they couldn't hand out bonuses to their employees for Christmas? What the FUCK? Needless to say, I was kind of peeved about that one.

The only plus for me was I decided to get a new PC for myself for Christmas and it arrived...a week late, but still, it arrived. I've been having a blast on it. Also, what I'm thinking of working on becoming a Twitch streamer, playing some games on there to see if could play some games for entertainment purposes. Not sure if that will happen, but we'll see, I've always wanted to do that.

For myself, I kind of shut down though this holiday season. With me being sick and just mentally/emotionally run down, I just stopped. While I didn't want to do that, I think that my body and mind was on overload, and I needed that alone time.

With that said...with today being the 20th, in 5 days....I turn 50. The big 5-0. Not really sure how to handle it really. When I was 40 it felt weird, but I was like, eh, who cares, I'm 40. This time...it's different. Now I just feel like a creepy old man. I don't feel normal. Or good. Just....alone. I honestly don't expect anyone to have any parties for me. I am going to be taking off this Friday to celebrate my birthday this weekend. But still...I just feel...not good. I can't put my finger on it, but I just do.

I hope I'm wrong.

Anyway, I'm hoping things start improving this year. That's all anyone can hope for.

I was hoping that you were having some good "down" time and am sorry that it was all clogged. Taking time for yourself is necessary so relax and make it low key. I hated 29 and after that-poof it all goes on

I wouldn't say it was all bad. I did get plenty of rest, which I needed greatly. And though I had to wait for my late Christmas present, my new PC is really cool!
When I turned 30, I didn't care at all. When I turned 40, I was a bit worried, and my 40's weren't so great. I had a lot of bad times, and it was more bad than good. But I'm hoping my 50's will be much better. I guess it's all about having a positive mental attitude to making life what you want it to be.
