Thank You Sven
I received an e-mail on this friendly site which read:
hallå warm
we are inspired by your poems which have a particular affect on the philosophical and slightly angst-ridden Swedish soul. We think that you have just the kind of mind that will be able to name our next range in IKEA self-assembly furniture in commemoration of the fact that we have been in Britain for 20 years. We will pay you many kronor and I will make arrangements for you to come to Uppsala and share a sauna with my good friend Inga (picture attached). Are you interested?

Of course I was honoured and delighted, not to mention totally hornified thinking about delectable Inga. Oh me, oh my! IKEA want me to name their next range in furniture. This is better than sainthood ‒ I mean to say, more people in the UK visit IKEA on a Sunday than go to church, not to mention the fact that I don’t have to die first. I strutted about rather full of myself, but being the English gentleman I am, doing it in an ever-so subtle way.
But then I realised that I was no more talented than all you wonderful bloggers who drop by, leave comments and lure me to your own brilliant blogs. So I replied to selfassemblysven64:
hallå sven
of course I am honoured and delighted by your offer and Inga looks like a very sweet lady I would much like to meet. However, I am sure that some of my blogfriends would also be up to the challenge too. Could they take part?
~warm
p.s. on this site I think you might get some sexy names.
To which selfassemblysven64 replied:
hallå warm
I have many kronor to spare and my executive sauna should be big enough for all of you. As for the sexy names ‒ we swedes like them very much, as you may know.
sven
So there you have it my friends. We’re off to a big puppypile in selfassemblysven64’s executive sized sauna. Time to celebrate with a little poem:
All that I saw was her rear, As she bent over stuff from IKEA. When she asked me, "Will you Now help me to screw?" I guess I got the wrong idea!
So all we have to do is name some household stuff …….
FUKK ‒ this has got to be a sliding unit ÅNAL ‒ a furniture unit that can be accessed from the rear RAXX ‒ a pair of bags (fun to play with) that hang off a chest
Hmmmmmmmm! Not as easy as I thought …… and I do so want to meet Inga!
Oh dear! Are any volunteers to help me finish the list?
Please?
Pretty please.
The poem was first posted as a comment on [post 656407] by [blog Mniel2] and it is true that IKEA has been in the UK for 20 years. I remember going to their very first store in Warrington, Cheshire way back in the 1980s and how they underpriced Habitat in contemporary furniture and furnishings. And then there were the revolutionary touches of a ’s play area, a low priced restaurant with an unashamedly Swedish bias to the menu, and a Swedish delicatessen. I love the herring pieces in marinades and sauces, but that’s quite another story!

warmandsexy52 replies on 2/3/2007 10:12 am: I am sorry I'm not as quick on the response as I might be. When things get busy at work I have so little time during the week. I'm going to try to respond faster in future.
I do like to respond, and visit to comment and write new blogs. So much blogging, so little time.

You are quite the character warm xx. i wish i could help in Your task @ hand. unfortunately, i know nothing of this IKEA. i will however, be searching the web for it good luck
warmandsexy52 replies on 2/3/2007 4:37 am: Madie, I've got some good news and some bad news for you:
The good news is that the nearest IKEA to you is on the outskirts of Chicago. I can personally guarantee it is there as I flew over it coming into Chicago O'Hare (in an aeroplane, not a paraglider, lol).
The bad news is that as far as I can tell you live 250 miles away from Chicago.
When I lived in North Wales I was happy to drive the 60 miles or so to the store in Warrington in Cheshire, but 250 miles is a bit of a long haul.
On the other hand, bearing in mind that more Brits go to IKEA on a Sunday than go to church you could consider it to be a pilgrimage.

The thing is, warm, those names you've suggested probably already do exist in the Ikea catalogue - are you sure you're not just plagiarising?
I love the insane names they have for their products. I mean, there would be nothing cooler than buying something purely because it is called KRAPP.
Blogito ergo sum.
warmandsexy52 replies on 2/3/2007 12:16 am: LMAO!!! I know for a fact that they had a self-assembly unit called BOJ. I might just checkout the new catalogue!
