A perfect moment
When I forget
how my heart aches
When the emptiness
inside ceases to swallow me alive.
I am so vain
And death is such an ugly place
To live each moment

To experience every breath.
I remember the excitement
when you
brushed my hair
from my eyes
I lost that tiny piece of me that night
When I knew the finality of death
You forgave me of all my sins
If one does not know will they be forgiven?
The innocent
We take the blows
We fight
Till we collapse
Exposed
Pale
from this
bloodletting
called life.
