Old song/ relevant meanings

It has taken me many years to understand some of the underlying meaning to the line "Give me a man with a slow hand" from a Pointer Sister's song. A slow hand is very important to romance in two ways, one it is the human touch and that can cure hurts, change moods, just make you feel good, send tingles up and down your body...in other words it is a miracle therapy. Second, slow hand means meaningful and lingering enjoyment of feelings and surroundings. Why does it take us so long to understand and live by a simple statement from a hell of a song.
