I'm curious to know what people on this site in rural Queensland have to say about this.

 I think most Councils near or far are pretty much in it to line their own pockets and interests first.
Here in Rocky, the council and now re elected Mayor(old bitch that she is), only allow money to flow to their own land or projects that her or her cronies own, increasing her and their wealth. Nothing for the next generation let alone the current one. There might well be councillors out there that care about our region and future, this current lot don't.
