IS NEW TECHNOLOGY LEAVING YOU IN THE DARK AGES ?

IS NEW TECHNOLOGY LEAVING YOU IN THE DARK AGES?

New Technology has been coming at us like a run-away train... Is your car stuck on the tracks? ?

It seems like only ten years ago I was able to keep up with most of the new developments in electronics and related software. Not any more. The way all this "Stuff" has been exploding with new developments coming faster and faster, makes it hard for even Tech Nerds to stay of top of things.

Leo Laporte, one of the most recognized tech guys, admits almost weekly on his radio show broadcasting from KFI 640 AM radio in Los Angeles on Saturdays and Sundays, that he's having a tough time keeping up with the fast pace of new developments in smart phones, computer software programs, and gadgets of all kinds.

There are so many nifty gadgets in the electronics field, and also in things like survival gear, led lighting, solar panels, battery chargers and more efficient batteries, new cars, digital cameras, cordless tools of all sorts,(and on and on)--- that it boggles my little mind.

When I go online at one of the big internet shopping sites--like Amazon--I have to watch myself and count out how much money I want to spend, because I become like a in a candy store.

Internet shopping is the easiest form of shopping for people like M. and I who live far away from any store that sells more than groceries. It's so neat to have the things we buy on line, delivered right to our gate, rather than having to drive 60 or 100 miles to buy anything besides a bag of potato chips, or a cold beer....besides.... neither of us even drinks...

Yes, I can grasp that, HC.... The Post Office here has deteriorated since I first bought my place in 1976... They too (the people I know and talk to there), say some of the technology has stripped them of needed personnel...of course in this area they've also had to cope with exponential growth of people, most of whom are unable to speak English. There are some really nice people working there who do their very best to provide the best service possible, but I think it's a losing battle. D.

I think they have really made internet shopping so much easier for everyone. I remember only place you could order anything before and have it delivered was Sears. We have come a long way into technology David hugsssssss V

Some things never change. Bars and liquor stores can always be found out in the middle of nowhere but you often have to travel twice as far to get a quart of milk and a loaf of bread.
Our only decent grocery store is a 30 mile round trip with only a couple of miles on rutty sand trails... The place where most things can be bought is a 60 mile round trip with about 5 miles over dirt trails more suited to horses than cars....I've learned to plan any excursion for things we need "right away" and could be ordered on the Web, but would take a week to be delivered...When I have to go into town I start off early--usually just as the sun comes up... the trouble is that a lot of places out here don't open early. For example, our Post Office dosen't open until 10 AM... Out in this desert it's already 105 or more by 10....I constantly remind myself to be thankful for the distances involved in where we live. If this place was easy to get to,we'd certainly have our share of the 40 million people who now make California their home..!! Pretty soon you'll be able to enjoy your nude beach!! hope you have fun.. dave

If you see me in the real world, come say "Hi Justskin."

I always behave. Preferably not well.
