GANGSTER? or is it GAY-angst-ter?

I was in the barber chair the other day getting my usual trim, when in walks this young dude with more tats than my favorite barber. He sits down in the next unoccupied barber chair after being warmly welcomed to the shop by my barber, fist bumps and usual jive included. My barber had been casually carrying on a vague friendly conversation with me when we are interrupted by this dudes communication to my barber. I couldn't help but notice that I didn't understand a word of this two-way conversation accompanied with what must have been jokes and levity that was going over my head. Not that all banter between mixed company is directed toward me just because Im in the chair, a temporary focus of attention, I started to realize that I was being intentionally excluded. After listening to them for awhile I couldn't help but mention that they had a "little language" of their own, didn't they? They both laughed, confirming my suspession, yet not openly confessing this deception. It was at this point that I remembered what I had heard about the different ways of communication that exists between persons incarcerated not wanting to divulge information to others outside their circle. All forms of communication are used in prison understandably but one that seems to have established itself in our young people is the wearing of trousers low and" below the equator and the rising of the moons" which in prison means something entirely different than as a free individual walking the streets of America. I have been informed by persons previously experiencing prison life that in there, belts are of course not allowed or issued so it remains that uniforms may drift low on the hips especially on the restricted diet, however, most inmates would hold up their trousers by any means possible even to the extreme to avoid being misunderstood. In prison when an inmate wears his pants low on his hips to the extreme as seen on the streets, schools, movies, even attending church, and anywhere by young men in America it means that they are open to being a "bottom" to any man wanting to score some quick sex wherever they can find a private spot. Why do quote unquote Gangsters use this manuver to demonstrate their mocho openly in public America today????
