Ray of Hope
Ray of Hope First off I want to say that my bolgging has slowed down considerably as I have had to spend more time with Ruben as he struggles to get his studdy habbits in sinc for the fourth grade. I have missed everyone but my compulsive nature was getting in the way of quality time with my little guy. Now for the blog at hand I was driving to work on Monday, a rainy morning in Southern California. The sky was filled with puffy cumulus clouds and then to my left I saw this huge beam of sunlight breaking through the clouds! I was stopped at a traffic signal and was realy touched by the magesty of the scene. It was like a night time search light but in reverse. It spoke to me of something powerful and spiritual. I took out my phone and took a picture and was amazed to discover that the beam of light did not show up in the picture! I took it again and the same thing happenned... Perfect picture but no sun beam from the heavens.. And then, it dawned on me... This show was just for me... It was a ray of hope during a stormy day, and it was dedicated to me! It made my day! |

It was sent just for you! Fourth grade is difficult--especially for boys. Grades 1-3 kids are learning to read. Grade 4-12 they are reading to learn. Since I used to teach 4th grade I can only say that reading, vocabulary, writing, and spelling are the most topics to emphasize. Have him read to you every evening without fail. Expand his vocabulary. Have him practice his spelling as you're driving him to and from places. Sometimes, learning to play a musical instrument and having to learn how to read music helps too. Have him read signs, billboards, labels, everything! I'm glad you were sent a sunbeam! Never ignore those who care for you you will have lost diamonds while you were collecting stones

It was hard to describe and put into words... Almost din't write the blog because I did not know quite how to express what I saw and the emotion I felt without running the risk of being corny!

I can imagine...I was wondering why there was no picture as I was reading it...but to have seen your face when the realization hit, that would have been the picture. As you said, the ray of hope was just for you. And as if by magic, your load was lightened because you were reminded that you are not truly alone... My expression must have gone from WTF when the picture did not come out to one of awe when I put one and one together... Thanks
