Loss or release?

The other day a friend of mine was talking about lost girl friends and lost loves. We chatted about what we missed. A pattern seemed to form. Most of what we missed was physical. Breasts, butt, shape of her body, eyes and so on . Funny not once did we ever say but god she did this and it drove me nuts! Well nuts in a bad way.

Mean while our past conversations about our ex wives has never brought up positive physical things, only negative.

So is it easier to dream of love lost? To blindly wish ourselves to what might have been happiness? I do find it strange that often old loves in hindsight never seem to have gotten picked apart like those we marry or almost do. Could be that in the role of Courts today we must assign blame to someone for failing. I do believe this drives both sides toward blame and hate.

Perhaps it is another thing. We allowed someone close to us and felt betrayed. This bile of betrayal, washes away the bad memories of almost relationships. Wipes the tears from our eyes, and clouds our memories. Lost in the maze of out life is why did it end?

So do we lose ourselves? Or do we find the release we so need to move on?
