When your passion shines.....
When your passion shines..... I had a uni lecturer who refused to use the clip-on mike when in front of 200 students, thereby forcing us all to come sit as close to the front as possible. Recalcitrants were targeted to their utter dismay, and on-the-spot questions were the rule. Those tardy were forced to confront their sins in a very public forum. Where noises and whispers were acceptable in other halls, there was pin-drop silence here, and the lecturer allowed her passion for her subject to shine into every one of us. I guess the point is everyone became forced to pay attention, which is no mean feat in a hall filled with youthful and raging hormones. And every word was eagerly awaited, just in case she called one on it. Amongst all our collective memories, this lecturers' commitment and pizzazz stands taller than all else. But, you know something, perhaps such brilliance can only be further noticed and appreciated when you have something to contrast it to. To be in a roomful of genii may be exhilarating to a very select few, while others may find themselves gasping for air; the dynamics are too vast to contemplate. I guess in this, as in life, there will needs be a balance. For as Freddy said, too much love can kill you... |

I think that even though those who were not confronted, and even those who were.... this will be a long-term lasting impact. Something like this cannot be measured (even though I believe in measurable return) It impacts the students who are listening (3% or so...) and those will be the ones who shape our world. What that speaker showed above all else, is how effective her technique was. It can be applied anywhere/anytime for any industry. What she exemplified was marketing and how to grab people by the "balls" and show them the right thing to do. Most Uni students will pass it off, but those who will shape the world, will take her lessons and run with it. It seems that she was very effective to those who mattered. It sounds like accountability. [post 2856614] This is the really small writing... in bold how 'bout RAINBOW colors?

Gotta love a teacher that actually wants to be there. I can really only think of 2 or 3 I've had that had passion you could see. My freshman year of high school I was in an AP English class and holy fuck, was it hard. She treated us like we were in law school I fought like hell to get a C in that class but I've never seen anyone with such a passion to teach, and she expected a lot in return. In a full heart there is room for everything. In an empty heart there is room for nothing.
