“The One Piece of Advice I’d Give”

This post is part of humorguaranteed Blogging Symposium series. This week's topic was chosen here The Virtual Symposium Returns Lets Pick A Topic.

First off, I'm not sure I'm even capable of giving just ONE piece of advice! LOL This topic is vague as well. Advice about WHAT? Life? Sex? Realtionships? Cooking? I voted for one of the other topics but as always, I bet on the wrong . That in itself could be a piece of adivce eh?

OK, I'll give it a shot. One piece of advice eh? Here it is.

Always be true to yourself.

Changing who and what you are for someone else or because of someone else NEVER ever works my friends. Of course, this piece of advice carries a very heavy burden. You HAVE to know yourself first before you can be true to yourself.

Knowing yourself takes a lot of work and if nothing else, honesty. You HAVE to be able to look at yourself in the proverbial mirror and not only see what is there but accept it as well.

I do think that the older you get the 'easier' this becomes but I also know that is not true in all circumstances. I know plenty of 'young' people who are perfectly in touch with and accepting of exactly who and what they are while I also know older folks who have never and probably never will come to grips with this so called simple thing.

The old adage that a Zebra can't change it's stripes comes to mind.

For example: I KNOW I'm an oversexed, lech who does in fact look at all humans basically as sex partners in one way or the other. (Well, all over 18 humans) I also know that I am totally open about it and this will sometimes cause problems.

I also know that I am able to talk to just about anybody about anything and love doing so. I AM a total people person and this too will sometimes cause problems.

I am both a voyeur and an exhibitionist and again, this does cause problems at times.

I could go on and on and ON but you get the idea.

So back to the topic at hand. Knowing AND being true to yourself is my piece of advice. If you can do both, you will be a LOT happier, you will be more confident and you will be more sexually attractive to others. Lots more -tm

p.s. Just a side note, I think humorguaranteed is the BEST writer out here in FriendFinder-x blog land period, hands down. I WISH on my best day, I could write as well and as eloquently as he does. Please go over and check him out, you will not be disappointed.

Good advice... if only I could find a way to go back to the '80s with what I know now (and a little money) I would have a lot of fun.

Be true to yourself. Simple advice that for many people is hard to actually do.
Thank you!

First off, thanks to your accompanying artwork I now crave barbecue. Thanks for nothing.

Being true to yourself, and the even more difficult step of knowing yourself, go hand in glove. They're damned difficult, and there are plenty of people who manage to go their entire lives without achieving either.

Personally, this explains (in part) my since-my-teens attraction to mature women -- and by "mature" I mean women who have grown into their own skin. There are, granted, younger women who already have, and older women who never will... but this is the sort of attribute that is more likely to come with age (along with the failing eyesight and the intermittent back pain, but one can't have everything).

Your self-aware and joyful approach to your sexuality -- and I'm speaking directly to you, Tazzerman -- is one of the many elements that makes your blog worth reading!

Good to have you along for the symposium ride... and do keep lobbying for your topic of choice! I'll be changing them up next month -- people have been making suggestions, and I've got a little list, I've got a little list -- but eventually you'll see the strong contenders resurface...

Stop in, read, and offer comments at my "swinging as seen in the media" blog, "Confessions of a Lifestyle Man" humorlife, which is also the home of the monthly virtual symposium. New post: The Virtual Symposium Returns Lets Pick A Topic

"The old adage that a Zebra can't change it's stripes comes to mind."
That's true, a zebra can't do that, but it can see how those stripes look with five inch red pumps and a slinky red wraparound...pretty hot, I'd wager! Add a flapper cloche, also in red, and you've got game, girl!
