Been a while.

In these uncertain times filled with doom and gloom, hope this gives you a smile.

Stay safe all of you.

There's a video of a few guys round the poker table, but their currency was sheets of toilet paper!

Bet it was worth twice the amount if it wasn't used.

No panic buying at my place. No shortage of toilet paper here.

A reporter called Will Oremus wrote a piece recently exploring why the toilet-paper shelves are empty in so many stores of so many countries, given that there are few - if any - Covid-virus symptoms relating to gastrointestinal issues.

Part of the answer to why the empty shelves was initial panic-buying and hoarding behavior. But it turns out that many people actually ARE using more toilet-paper at home. The reason being that - pre-shelter-at-home - many people spent the majority of their time outside their homes.

Which meant they frequently used toilets at their work-places . . . at their schools . . . at restaurants, pubs and shopping centers . . . and so on.

Not so simple as having the work-place/schools/shopping-malls TP sent to fill empty grocery-shelves. Because TP for home-use an TP for public-space use turn out to be two very different products.

TP for home use tends to be plush, 3-ply, so-called virgin-fibre. While TP for public-space use is rougher, coarser, 2-ply and even single-ply. And not just different products but actually an entirely different supply chain - made by different companies and sold by different sales-forces, etc.

Because TP is a bulky, low-price, low-margin product . . . nearly all producers of both types of TP operate their production-lines near capacity already. And there isn't much incentive to invest additional money to increase production-capacity for what most hope will be just a short-term-duration period of shelter-at-home.

Who knew about TP supply-chain management - smile ? Thanks, Will Oremus!

Send me a picture
with a roll in yer hand
iffen it's 3 ply
I might be yer man

Don't want no picture
of boobs hanging free
a roll of 3 ply
is what excites me

maybe your ass
looks fine in a thong
but a roll in each hand
makes me heart beat so strong

the times they have changed
and dating has too
ain't nothing builds lust
like a roll just for two.

Stay safe sweetie.

Thanks for popping in and leaving a comment.

Wow that explains a lot. Now I'll be able to come up with so much information next time someone asks the question...... why toilet paper.

Life goes on here too even if it's only work.

I do miss out meeting up with friends for a coffee. Got a friends Big birthday coming up later in the year, so hoping things will go back to normal before then, also I've got time off booked, and I need time off big time.

The planet seems to be burning with both fire and fever.

I reckon you have unpacked those bags, by now?

The hoarding of toilet paper and other things at the start of this, was unbelievable.

Just shows how stupid some people are.

Glad you got a laugh.
