And you're curious what it's like but never were sure what to ask & who to ask it of.
Oddly enough someone on our freinds list asked this very same question and after making the reply to them I thought it would make a great Blog entry. yanno, since I'm all about the FriendFinder-x info-mercial crap. 
So, on to the good stuff!
Well, where can we start,...
I know, how about what makes me no sort of expert on anything, but does give me some insight based on personal expereince. that should work!
We have an X-g/f that we had a very tumultuous, yet exceedingly loving & sexual relationship with on & off for about 2 years. It was on & off because she was married to someone who was never home (dont judge, it started innocently enough & I'm not proud of it). It began as just a way to keep her comapny, & sane, but we lucked out as it were in that the 3 of us turned out to be fully compatible and a bond formed immediately. Her circumstances changed tho (they moved away), and so it had to end. To this day are all very close freinds, still quite in love with eachother, & given the chance would move in together in a big 'ol house with the critters & her .
The relationship itself was outstanding as we all loved eachother intensely and shared a very passionate appetite for eachother. We spent most of our time tofether just doing what anyone in a relationship does, living, working, sleeping, helping raise her , it was great! And the sex was mind numbing to say the least.
Currently we have a very close freind, not what we'd call a g/f per se, but we have a very steady relationship & she stays with us more than at her own home. The idea of stepping it up has come up a time or two, but circumstances make me believe that it's better to keep everyones options open at this time. Regardless of all that tho, it's been great just having someone else around that we can be completely open & ourselves with. Oh yeah, & occasionaly we bump like bunnies, quite fun that!  lol
No reservations, no worries, just freinds having fun. It's been 4 months now & we are quite enjoying having her around, she's an excellent freind & lover, & no, I'm not just saying that coz she may read my blog. 
Now we get to the meat of it.
Familial aspects
What do you tell your family about this other person thats always around, and always so,...? 
Now, what to tell your family is all up to you & depends on how much they allready know about your lifestyle. Our families know about and accept us, & our friend, as we are. Some have issues, but since we have always been pretty open about our lifestyle choices, have so far keep it to them selves & stay out of our business. It's not an easy thing in reality, there are always those ones that will never look at you the same again & may quit talking to you. Then again you may be suprised, might have a couple similarly minded people in the family you never knew about. But not many of us can be so lucky tho so choose your words wisely when answering those questions.
Social acceptance
In todays society, gay & lesbian couples are pretty commonplace all over the world. however, people like us who carry on triad relationships are still looked upon with no small amount of disfavor. It's not as obvious as it once was as people are becomming more & more open minded as time goes on.
So, taking that into account, the impact of social hurdles on you & your partners all depends on how much you care about what society thinks. My wife & our playmate really dont give two shits what anyone thinks outside of our immediate family & our social circle. We dont flaunt our relationship, but we're not hiding anything either. Recently we went out near a local university & had fun seeing the looks & reactions the 3 of us got, all holding hands, being close, & chatting away like best freinds while walking through the busy after school crowd. It was funny to us anyway, all that matters.
Employers
Now some of us dont have to worry about what our boss thinks about our lives, some dont. I sure as hell dont and have been confronted & squashed the issue several times. In my particular position I just own up to it & ask em why they care? Usualy I find it's coz they wanna know how the hell I do it. But there are those folks that work with/for employers that are worried about image, so a degree of discretion should be practiced with & around people from your workplace. Many times your bosses may be accepting of your lifestyle, but let it cross into your work life & see how far that flies,...
Number one rule we abide by, and will always reccomend to others: Dont shit in your own yard!! What this means is do not, under any circumstance, fuck a co-worker. If you can avoid it, dont fuck anyone in your company. It's awkward & makes WAY too many waves. I was tempted to break that rule myself once when I had the hottest lil Texas hottie working for me, & she wanted to be with my wife & I, but couldn't do it. Just not a good idea, ever,... Simply put, you may be able to get away with living the way you live outside of work, but once it comes in the doors, you may both find yourselves unemployed in short order.
Pitfalls & hurdles,...
Yeah, there are TONS!
Most obvious, finding someone. Finding the occasional playmate can be a challenge as it is, but finding someone that you both like, and likes both of you, and enough to carry on a full on relationship. Oh yeah, wheeeee!
Once you find someone, you have to keep in mind that your primary partner will be more apt to notice if your attentions start to wander more into the new playmate. There's also the feeligns of your new partner to think of as well as they often feel that they are in the way & will never be fully accepted by one or both of you. Opposite of that, there may be those people that will decide they cant live without one of you, but dont care for the other, becoming a real issue in your primary relationship.
You must always be aware of what each of your partners is doing, how they are reacting, even when you are in the middle of the best fuck of your life, keep that one brain cell attuned to both of your mates. Jealousy is a killer in many relationships, even those that are accustomed to the occasioanl roll with someone outside the relationship. But turn it around & add someone who is around every day, you may find jealousy in places you didn't expect in your partner/s.
You must keep an eye out for off ballanced attentions & feelings from your new addition. Not so much the one that wants to break you up, but the one that just prefers one of you over the other. Puuting more focus on one of you can also foment jealousy & be a deal breaker.
Needless to say, choosing a 3rd wisely is essential.
Regardless of how stable your relationship is now, adding a 3rd can, & most likely will, produce seeds of jealousy. It's perfectly natural & should be expected & planned for. Even experienced lifestylers have those things in the back of thier minds. It's what keeps you alert & attentive to your mates needs & binds you to your commitments to your mate & your 3rd.
Communication is key, and it has to be total between you & your primary BEFORE you find a 3rd, and also between you and the person that becomes your 3rd. Never be afraid to voice your concerns & you'll find that solid communication will squash distrust & jealousy before it can become an issue. Works for us anyway!
But then again, I might be totaly full of shit and have NO idea what the fuck I'm talking about,...
Wouldn't be the 1st time!

Pop quiz: You live in an area with a good amount of similarly minded people, and you'd like to see a M&G in the area, there are several others that feel the same, but nobody seems to bite.
What do you do?
Here's how it goes. If you build it, they will come.
Sure it's a lame rip off line, but it is very much the truth. However,...
You have to take a few thing into mind when choosing a place & time to have the meets.
Location location location!
Location is the single biggest killer of meets. You have to find a place that has several attributes so that a wider variety of people will be more likely to enjoy coming. Bars are the most obvious, but not the best. Now a resturaunt with a lounge in it is the ideal setting. Someplace that has dancing & brings in a live bands from time to time is also a crowd pleaser. Altho you do have to keep in mind it may get louder & end the socializing earlier than most like.
The biggest thing is to pick a location that is central to your area to be most convenient to everyone, not JUST the host (We have to drive 35 miles to get to our usual meeting place). And on top of that, someplace where there is an acceptable amount of annonimity, someplace you can justify being if say, your boss walks in & you are the type that actualy cares about that stuff.
Look at the security aspect of the location. Is this a place you'd feel comfortable taking, say, your mom or sister. If it's not, move on. Bigger & more secure is better, but check out the crowds & when it gets busy, things like that.
One thing to look for is someplace that has something else to offer people if they decide they aren't into it, so it's not a wasted evening for them. Afterall, a night out dancing & conversing with like minded folks in a fun place is always better than about an hour is the corner of a smoky bar with some folks that just dont do it for you & deciding to call it a night.
Time & date
Weekday meets are fairly popular in areas with a larger population, just some freinds getting together for dinner & chat, then off home before bed time. Not the most feasble for areas with a sparser population tho.
So weekend meets are the most popular, either Friday or Saturday nights. You can try to find out from the people that are interested what day works best for them, but in the end you cant please everyone, so do what you can.
Start early so that people can get in some face time & chat before the location gets too loud, also gives people a chance to eat, things like that. We start ours at 7pm, but we get there at 6:30 so we can be finishing our dinner as people start to arrive. (Food is a great way to bring people together, so if you can find a meeting place with great food that people can share, all the better!)
Advertising
Now here's the tricky part. The best way to get the word out is the chat rooms. But you cant be annoying about it, & you cant be repetitive, you'll get banned. You can also post it in your freinds network page, but the site screens those & will deny the posts if they have too much specific info, a serious pain in the hiney. If you can get several people to just mention kind of off handedly in the chats about the meets, & email people that you're interested in & let them know you'll be at a social gathering at this location if you'd like to meet in a safe enviroment, yadda yadda,... It all works.
Patience!
You will find that you'll have a small turnout at first, it might even get smaller. But if you set a regular date (We started one weekend/mo. & now use the 2nd & 4th Saturdays), people will know it's there & come out when they can. It's better to have a set date so people can plan ahead, very important with couples/parents with . Regardless tho, there will be up times, & there will be down times, but persistence pays off.
Over time word gets out & you'll get folks showing up that are new to the site, or just heard someone was holding a meet, many times they get invited to meet someone for the 1st at the meets as they are a safe place.
Wich brings me to Damn good reasons to attend the meets
Dont be a wuss, everyone was new at one time. Hell, we still attend random meets in other cities & frequently are the newbies. Sure, we are known, but we're still strangers in person. When you take into account that Deni & I are really shy & pretty much socially inept,... Yeah, ANYONE can do this! 
If you already know people, you have backup when meeting someone new. VERY important feature for single ladies. We know several women that use the meets for 1st encounters with men/couples. They'll tell them "if you'd like to meet me, I'll here on this day". this does a couple of things, 1st, it weeds out the losers who dont have the balls to meet around people you know but they dont. 2nd, if you two just dont click, there are other people there you & the person you met might like. it's all about options!
The single most important thing is NETWORKING! As I mentioned in the previous post, networking will gain you more solid contacts than the meets do, & WAY more then this site does. We have even been meeting people from other sites that came to our meets with other members, or folks just bring along freinds that aren't even on the web. Someone always seems to know someone else that "might like you", we have gotten some very interesting contacts this way.
In the years we have been playing this internet game, we can say without a doubt that the people we have met directly at other meets, and more recently the people that attend our meet, have been the greatest source of finding new compatible people.
So, if you cover the location, set a date, & show up consistently, you will find that more & more people come out.
You might not get many at once, I think we topped out at 16 people, but we have always had someone new at every meet, & have drawn people from as far as 3 hours away. As long as you draw fresh faces, you're gonna have a chance.
But even so, you go in hoping for a lot, expecting nothing, & you'll always go away happy.
We have met several hundred people at meets & other public events, have made some truly amazing freinds, as well as met & had wild freaky sex with a few lovely ladies. All of this without ever having to attend some creepy "house party".
Now, go out, talk to people, find a place, meet!

An old prospector comes down out of the mountains to cash in his gold dust, have a hot meal, & a drink. Now bein a typical fellow he's interested in some female company so he asks the bartender if they have any girls.

The hardest thing about running a meet is that you are constantly seeing people with unrealistic expectations from this site as well as the meets.
You are not going to get laid every time, hell, you may never get laid if there's nobody you are mutualy attracted to!
The thing is this, if people dont come out & just hang out & network (the single MOST effective way to meet people on here by the way), you'll never meet anyone you like. Likewise, others show up now & then, & not seeing anything they like, quit comin out. Usualy right before someone that fits thier tastes comes out for the 1st time. Murphys' Law at it's best.
To draw more people we need to have folks that are willing to hang out & be willing to take a chance that someone else will come out. Ya need people to draw people, it's that simple.
Now up where we live it's hard as we have such a small population, cutting the attendance in two ways. 1st & most obvious, there's going to be less people out there, secondly because there's more likelyhood that people will be having smalltownitis (fear of seeing or being seen by friends/co-workers/etc.).
Now I genuinly appreciate every person that has taken thier off time to come out to attend our meets, or any other meets for that matter. But I have zero sympathy for those people that complain about how they aren't meeting anyone. Esp. those that come out once, maybe twice, then buzz off coz they didn't like the scenery.
You want this to work? Ya have to put forth more effort & accept the fact that it possibly will take time to meet someone you can get freaky with. Come out with the desire to spend time with similarly perverted people in a stress free enviroment, and while hoping for the best, expecting nothing.
Besides, all of our best fun was had by total accident. It never happened when we were expecting it & that seems to be pretty common.
Take the chance, go out to a local M&G, what do ya have to lose?

Ok then, a little late on this entry, but better late than never.
Last weekend found us at the club again. Wasn't as crazy as St. Pattys day, but my oh my, what a ride.
We paced ourselves this time so we didn't get burnt out too early. Dinner was excellent & we shared it with two other couples & had some good conversation to go with the food.
We decided to hit the loft right off the bat & headed up & found a good spot to lay back & have a good healthy fuck. Another couple was across from us & shortly thereafter another couple was next to them & seems they liked eachother. Shortly they had this tiny lil gal between the men and she was workin em good. So we decided to hit the club for the St. Patricks day event, & wow, what a ride!!!
It was more packed than we have seen so far, and was an extreme amount of fun. We did see the couple we met last time around, the lady half was looking awesome as usual & had 3 different green outfits, each more naughty/tasty than the next.

Visit #3 to the club

So this is a lil late, but ah well. 
We went for the Black Party, a good thing for us as most of our clothing is black. Deni was lookin tasty in her shorty short Hooters skirt & a camisole that reads "I fucked your girlfriend" across the tits. She got alot of good attention to say the least.
We were sitting out front while a couple freinds were going thru orientation (they elected not to saty that night for other obligations, but seem VERY interested in returning) and started talking to a couple in the lobby. Talked to our Xg/f last night. Nothin new about that, we talk quite a bit, something about the 3 of us still being very much attatched to eachother, in love even.
The oh shit part somes into play when she tells me she's wanting to come see us for a week over spring break.
I lover her, we both do, but she's trouble with a 10 foot T. Granted, the kinda trouble I LOVE to get into, but she has a way of turning our world all topsy turvy.
Now I of course told her it was fine & she's always welcome to come stay w. us, and she is really. Just glad I have a couple months notice so we can prepare.
Have NO idea what will happen when she comes to see us. Things have been pretty crazy for her lately & she needs a break with people tht aren't asking her for something. I think thats why our relationship, such as it is, has outlasted all of her others really. We've only asked that she be real with us, sometimes thats asking alot in itself, but we're the one constant in her life it would seem.
Now of course since we are THAT close, I offered to take her to "The Club",... She seems rather excited about that prospect, even if nothing terribly exciting happens, it will be a unique expereince for her & we're garanteed to have a good time.
I love her, I enjoy time with her, but I dread it all the same. What a wierd relationship!!

2nd trip to the club

So we're now official members of the club. Decided to make a weekday run as the rest of our weekends this month are spoken for in one way or another. That & a freind of ours is a member & she was gonna go tonight as well, she was kind enough to get there early & hang out w. us for a bit. ANYway,... We got there at opening time so we could take care of the mebership dues & all that. Grabbed a locker then settled into a couch to chat & see who came in. An evening at "the club",...

I have no idea where to start, it's been a crazy day & I'm still bouncin off the walls.
It's,... 10:30am, we got home about an hour ago from "the club". We went to our 1st swingers club last night. & let me tell you, we LOVE it. We had such a blast there & we didn't even play with other people!!

ANYway,... Now that I'm done babbling, we did quite enjoy ourselves & are definately going to get full memberships. May only get to go once a month or so, but we'll defiantely get out moneys worth out of it!

One thing that just grates on my nuts is people who claim to be open minded & understanding but in reality are not.
This has been building for some time, a constant irritation due to the general stand offish attitude of people in our local area. But as is stands, what sparked my rant was actualy the offhand remarks of a good freind & playmate that set me off. Ironic huh?
