Recent site hiccups and current status

As many know, we have been experiencing technical challenges these past couple of days. There has been a number of different hardware and network-related issues that caused the site to not be fully available - most notably in photo load speed. Our tech team has been working in 16 hours shifts around the clock to rebuild hardware and re-balance the system. They have made significant progress.

They have upgraded the way that photos and other images are delivered. Pages with lots of photos now should come up 2-3 times faster than before.

Our development group has been focusing the last 3 weeks on making current features of the site work better. On June 20th, they released the first phase of the improvements with the next phase coming out July 5th.

I truly am sorry for the inconvenience of our recent site performance. This upcoming week, we will be extending memberships of people affected. We will continue to work hard to improve your experience here.

I hate to disagree with you. I can understand a switch failure, but your programmers and quality control are abysmal. Even basic features don't work right anymore. If these first phase features are a harbinger of things to come, you're going to have a full scale riot on July 5th. Do you have any processes or controls in place? Do you choose your "features" based on what your customers want, or what your technical people think is "kewl"?

And if the rumored change that standard members can't return my email is true, you've seen your last dollar from me. The only reason I'm gold instead of silver is access to new members. I can blog for free many places. If I can't use this place to meet women, I'm gone.

Thanks for your feedback. Please send me an email of which issues you want us to address first - we still have a few more development days before the July 5th upgrade. 80% of projects we work on are based on member feedback. Some are hits and other are not.

As far as member access to emails. As you know, most mainstream dating sites require both parties to be full paying members to trade email. We are testing different access levels for members during their first few days of membership. As an adult dating site, we obviously have an gender imbalance that makes it impractical to require this. We are not testing access level changes for women nor any other member who has been a member for a few weeks. We have also recently implemented a few new services that are making it easier for women to participate. Our goal remains the same as always - to get more people "success".

Its great that you are working on improving the site any chance you could send a bulletin to the site to let us know in advance that changes are being made, might help out with some of the griping?

I wish we would know before computer hardware fails. As far as new upgrades and bug fixes, we have a "site support" blog (see link on main page). My goal these next few months is to increase the staff we have maintaining it.

One new blog "feature" coming is the ability to create your own "mood" selection instead of using the somewhat limited list of moods. We are also working on a way to repost your blogs into a public forum (more like categorizing your blog posts so they can be found more easily). Perhaps as soon as next Monday, we will release a new member profile page which makes it easier to view the members photos - you won't need to go to a second page to flip though the photos. As mentioned earlier, we have more people working on improving existing features recently.

Yes, profile photos we very slow or broken off and on the last couple days - they should be REALLY fast now. Are you still seeing that message? If so, on which pages?
