THE FACE
Beckons the final frontier
Of another weary twenty-four hours
The rose in one hand
That was to fuel a pointless romance.
ROMANTICS ARE NATURAL LOSERS.
Damp cotton 'kerchief
Falls to the ground.
TEARS AND BLOOD BIND LOVE'S SYMPHONY.
Deep in the heart of hearts
Something still stirs
Previously 'taken for dead.
Tortured mask shows no trace.
WHERE DID IT ALL GO WRONG ?
Same memory drags
Twists through life
Like a broken knife.
TRULY SHARP KNIVES ARE HARD TO FIND.
Once a load on the back
And a girl on the arm
Turned lack-lustre to charm.
TEMPTATION THE BEST EXCERCISE FOR DEVOTION.
Now with brave heart
Even muscle turns to fat
On recollection.
