I’VE GOT A SECRET This post is my contribution to the eighteenth virtual symposium diligently organised by our supreme cult leader humorlife. Above is Paul Newman appearing on the American game show I’ve Got A Secret in 1956. Those were the days when people could smoke on television. They still can but it’s quite rare to see actors smoking on screen nowadays. One secret I kept from my parents was that I smoked, though I suspect my Mum suspected! It wasn’t that I was worried about telling them but rather I wanted to use a weekend visiting my parents as a launch-pad for quitting smoking. The launch never happened, so the secret remained and will forever remain as my parents are now both dead. I also had another secret with my parents. When I was little, I once poo-ed my pants and, too embarrassed to tell my Mum, I scaled the roof of the house to deposit my pants on the roof. My secret nearly got exposed when my Mum saw my pants from the ground, but I kept quiet. At the time I thought I got away with it but I probably didn’t. My Mum, being quite familiar with my underwear, probably knew they were my pants but didn’t want to embarrass me! I have lots of secrets, but my secrets tend not to be absolute secrets. My secrets are relative secrets. I keep certain secrets with certain people. For example, I don’t tell work colleagues that I’m on this site but you already know I’m here. I have only two secrets with members of this site. The first secret which I want to confess is that I wrote joisygirl’s [post 3803267] blog post and that joisygirl wrote my quotAMERICAS LOVE AFFAIR WITH THE AUTOMOBILEquot blog post. This all happened on April Fools’ Day! Writing someone else’s blog post is very interesting; I learnt a lot about how joisygirl blogs and I also learnt a lot about how I blog. I learnt that I have shorter paragraphs; I use one space after a full stop; I don’t know the difference between a klutz and a ditz; I post more sexually explicit images; and, I don’t write such long postings as joisygirl does. I try to see the last difference as me being concise and parsimonious with words rather than my good friend being exuberant and fulsome with words! Did you have any suspicions that joisygirl wrote my blog post on April Fools’ Day? Would you tell your friend if you found out that he or she is being cheated on? I have no problem people keeping secrets from me, even if it means they lie to me. It’s their choice whether they tell me or not. On occasion I’ve been told secrets that I wished I hadn’t been told! Someone telling me that my girlfriend is cheating on me immediately comes to mind as something I don’t want to know. This post is getting quite long; it seems my stint as guest-writing a post on joisygirl’s blog has made me more long-winded and rambling! Oh I nearly forgot to tell you my second secret. My cock is actually three inches bigger than it appears on my main profile photo. The truth is now revealed below! I hope I’m not judged too harshly for keeping this a secret from you all!   |

Did you have any suspicions that joisygirl wrote my blog post on April Fools’ Day?  I am shocked and stunned by that deceitful posting!! Complete violation of my trust in your blog!!! (a bit of belated April fools there  )Would you tell your friend if you found out that he or she is being cheated on?  That is a tough one, I am not sure if I would or should

I didn't know joisygirl wrote that blog. And whether or not I'd tell a friend about a cheating partner, I think it'd depend on the circumstances. As for your other secret ... Tsk tsk ... That's a big secret to keep ...

I can't say I suspected you had a ghost writer on your last post. Tough one, telling a friend they are being cheated on. A lot of factors would come into play on that. Find pleasure in giving pleasure

Nope. I was clueless about the ghostwriting. Good one!  One space or two spaces?  ... I too was taught 'two spaces after a period'. All of my early writing is done that way. ... But then I learned about the controversy. I liked many of the arguments for one space. . So I changed. Sort of. I still use two spaces often, but in writing solid paragraphs (which I am doing less of these days) I use one. .. My writing is starting to be a lot less "formal".  Telling a friend about someone cheating? That's a tough one. .. It might not be for the best, but I'd have trouble keeping my mouth shut.

I guess I was fooled, but then again I seem to remember some controversy a while back about this same subject and I am not sure if either of you really are who you claim to be Maybe you are both fictions of kzoo's mind. If someone ghost writes a post in the same style as the blogger then does it really matter who actually wrote it as it will be consistent with their original writings anyway if done well? Who picked the subject is what I want to know? To tell or not to tell? Depends so much on the situation doesn't it. Vive La Difference

Very fun! Crap, now I have more blog posts to read and I was trying to get caught up on "secrets". Friend: Would you tell someone if you saw their girl cheating on them? Me: Heck yeah! Friend: I saw "Blank's" girl with two guys. Me: (True story)

I do not read very often English or American blogs. So I cannot answer to your fundamental question. And by the way, this for me a key reason to enjoy the virtual symposiums: opportunities to travel all around the world. However, I did not imagine that the topic of this symposium would lead to poo and pee. Thanks for this post.
