What Is a Youth?

不久前 (大約三十多年前吧)，有一部電影羅密歐與茱莉葉，電影裡有一首動人的歌曲 What is a youth?
歌曲動人的原因有二：
一是唱者的音色純淨、美極了！
二是歌詞的含意。

這幾天不知為何這首歌的旋律在腦海裡浮現，已有多年不曾想到這首歌了。是因為在這個網站上發覺怎麼都是年輕人嗎？還是......?

於是上網搜尋這首歌 (我的 LP 唱片不知道塞到那裡去了，雖然我的 turn table 運作很好，但要找到唱片才有用啊...)

結果很有意思，我發現找到的歌詞大多有誤，其中一句 "Love is a pastime that never will pall." 幾乎都誤作 "Love is a task that never will pall." 了。即使找到一個網站沒把 pastime 弄成 task，但也把 pastime 拼錯成 pasttime 了。Love 怎麼會是 task 呢？若是 task 又怎麼會 never will pall 呢？

於是我忍不住把原版歌詞找出來跟有緣人分享：
