Lost another due to Road rash

Well this afternoon, I called up my best friend to find out that his step has given up riding. He purchased a beautiful 09 Ultra Classic loaded to the max. This past week, some fool not looking swerved into his lane to avoid a stopped vehicle that was in his lane. My friend was in his blind spot and as usual, 'HE DIDN'T SEE HIM" and as you can tell, the car won the battle between car vs motorcycle.

M laid his bike down pretty hard while hitting the idiot. Lucky for him, no broken bones or anything serious. The bike is a total loss. When asked, M says he's giving up the bike. Says his life passed in front of him and now he wants to buy a Corvette instead.

I'm all for having a Corvette but I'm not giving up my bike. yes I've had one minor crash breaking my collarbone. Perhaps it's insanity but that crash only convinced me to get my own motorcycle. (I crashed my best friends Harley) And YES, he is still my best friend.

I'm glad M is okay but I'm really sorry we lost another rider. I'm looking forward to riding real soon. The weather just hasn't been nice to us as of late. The bike is cleaned up and waxed. She needs another coat of wax to make me happy so I may do it this weekend. For now, the cover is keeping the dust off her but it won't be long before the cover gets put away for a long while.

OUCH! I have flashbacks of that plastic brush on my open wounds. Never again, than you!
OUCH! That doesn't sound goo at all. I've been pretty lucky. I do hope there will be no more accidents involving a motorcycle.

Glad that you friends step son is ok.
Part of the thrill of being on a bike is...the danger of it.

We're glad he is okay too. Sometimes, road rash is worse than having actually broken a bone. I still think that I'd prefer the road rash. After having this surgery, I'm done with ever wanting another one. This is taking too long for my foot to heal.
