No Dump Chili today

No Dump Chili today

Was going to cook up a big pot of Southwestern Dump Soup,
something like a heavy thick chili, but has all kinds of beans,
dark red kidney, black, pinto, whole kernel corn, hamburger,
tomatoes, dry ranch dressing and taco mix, all cooked down to a
thick chili substance, but power keeps going off, so will have to wait.

Will divide it into individual servings when cold, and freeze it. So
good with crackers, cornbread or hushpuppies for a fast meal. Throw it in the microwave to thaw and heat it back up. Great summer or winter.

Easy to do, takes more time to open all the cans of beans and corn.

Try it sometime, you might like it.

Hope you like it as much as we do in SE NC.

It will be better after it has cooled down and sits
in the pot for a day or so. They heat as much back up
as you would like. Sitting allows the flavor to go through
all the beans etc;.

Okay; from memory: brown up 1lb to 1.5 lbs of HBurger, dump HB in
a pot that you have a couple of big cans chunky tomatoes, 2- 16 oz cans
of regular stewed tomatoes, 1-2 pkgs dry ranch dressing, 1-2 pkgs dry taco mix hot or mild (which ever you want), 2 canned black beans, drained; 2 cans red kidney beans, 2 cans regular kidney beans; 2 cans pinto beans; 2 cans whole kernel corn (white or yellow - I like more, so put in another can of corn) 2 cans cream corn to help liquid
thicken; if you like 1 can of Rotel tomatoes with green chilis. This will make a huge pot, put a defuser under the pot while cooking so it
does not stick to the bottom of the pot. Bring all to a rolling boil and then cut it back so it just cooks through for 4-5 hrs or longer.

Not: If any of the other beans and kernel corn have a lot of liquid, drain it out first. You can always add liquid back to it, and if I
do, I use chicken broth stock to go back in it as opposed to water.

Let it sit till it cools and put in smaller containers to freeze and
pull out and thaw/heat in microwave. I love it, summer and winter.
Thanks

It is very good, and good for you. BUT would
think it would be spoiled by the time it got to you.

Sound yummy. But the too much beans could make gas.
Not so much, but keep a bottle of beano around.

Depends on the individual as well.

Sounds good but what are hushpuppies??? Over here they are a sort of comfortable shoe!!!
We have hushpuppie shoes over here too.

But hushpuppies are a bread, made of ground cornmeal,
mixed with either water or milk and spooned into hot, hot
grease and fried. They usually come out looking like small
crispy balls. Oh so good with certain foods, such as our
pulled BBQ pork, or veggies, or just by themselves as an
appetizer with butter.

One restaurant here puts mashed up sweet potatoes and cinnamon
in theirs, and they are excellent piping hot dipped in butter.

Bet you all have something similar over there, but what do you
call it?
