Appear in Costume???

Since our Thanksgiving feast is to be in and outside of a Summer Kitchen (Party Barn), am seriously thinking about wearing my period clothing, long multiple skirts, boots, and a cape along with an old balloon bonnet (of the Revolutionary War Era), but haven't definitely made up my mind to do that.

What do you bloggers think, should I or not??? Not one else will be dressed in period clothing.

Did not wear the costume since it was to be 70 degrees that day, and with a couple of tops, 4 skirts, a pair of leggings, high top boots with socks and that big old bonnet, I would have needed someone along with me to fan and keep me cool.

Day was enjoyable anyway.

Definitely looking to have a good time even if I don't crawl into all those period clothing items. The old cloth bonnet with the cardboard in the pockets of the face protector along would get them all talking.

Have a good Thanksgiving.

No, am not the hostess, but we all like to have fun and various of us do things like this from time to time.

Am still pondering it.

No big deal of preparation. Merely throw all the full ruffled skirts and top in the dryer and get the wrinkles out since those clothes have been packed away for a few months as I didn't get a chance to participate in the re-enactment at the local National Military Park this fall. More of a struggle to get that many clothes to work together going on, ne over the other.

Have a good week. js

Thursday is supposed to be warmer so the summer kitchen might work out well. I'd hesitate to give you any advice on clothing. Personally, I'd rather fade into the background but if you have a more outgoing personality, it might be fun. Maybe you'll start a new tradition.
The party barn is almost surrounded by a tall pine forest, and can be quite cool and breezy even in the summer, so probably won't be too hot. If it gets a bit warm, will wear a pair of jeans and shirt under all this garb and do a 'strip' to cool off.

Have a great week my friend. js
