Great post. I was familiar with the daffodils "medicinal" values from a pharmacognosy course I took some years ago.

In Norway we call them 'Easter lilies' and the white variety 'Whit lilies' because they appear later in the year. No springtime flowerbed without a crowd of daffodils!

Indeed, I scampered around my neighborhood like the Easter Bunnt collecting daffodils for my home! So beautiful after a long winter

Outstanding post.
I think I'll have to look up Bullwinkle as well. That was always one of my favorite cartoons as a kid.
