 I'm a bit the same as you, people assume I'm an extrovert from my personality. When the truth is, "groups" of people exhaust me pretty quickly.

I'd say, go into these things with an exit plan. Another place you have to be at a set time. A doctor's appointment in the morning. Tons of work and a deadline, but you are taking a break for this thing, then going back to work. Then you can breeze in, be fabulous for however long, and then leave.

 you seem to be a female version of me lol, im exactly the same and as far as an escape plan being needed, just carry on doing what you do now and eventually everyone gets used to you fucking off all time then that becomes the norm. hope it works out for ya though as there is nothing worse than mixing with others lol.
