pathologically ‘optimistic’ so I had a visit with a dr (a dr, not my dr) abt MS ‘it’s not a death sentence’ he says quite Brightly. Twit. [and I’m being Exceedingly Kind here] now although I could go into listing the 5,000 and 2 different ways that he is in fact a Mindless Twit, it’s more Easily Explained this way: he is technically correct. there are Any # of Chronic or Debilitating diseases that will not necessarily kill you, this being 1 of them. and I Won’t list the pages and pages and pages of Symptoms that you Do get [as a Life sentence, if you will] bc this Isn’t to bemoan or<b> whine </font></b>abt what is. it Is to Say that just bc something Is Not a “Death Sentence” Doesn’t Make It a Good Thing Either. some People, some Things, some Circumstances, they Just Suck. They Just Do. you can paint a pretty picture on just abt anything you set your mind to. But Don’t Mistake that “pretty picture” as something Positive. It Isn’t. it’s Insensitive and Dismissive [of Reality] it’s 1,000 Mega-Watt Denial and I personally have Never seen Denial of the Obvious help Anyone. I don’t know when positive-to-the-point-of-Denial became the “in” thing or the “PC” thing, but I’m here to tell you, it Doesn’t Help. if you know someone dealing with a Difficult circumstance (someone’s passing, any difficult circumstance really) if you’re Not Sure what to say? – say /That/: “listen, I don’t have Any idea what to say, but I’m here if you want to talk”.
