Life Is Like A Camera
Life Is Like A Camera When I saw this quote, I realized ‘it’ was about positivity. We should concentrate on and remember the good things. Also, t.o learn from our mistakes and not dwell on them. However, the last part of the quote is what had my mind spinning about taking another shot or having another shot at life. Would I want that chance? I have been asked that question and my honest answer is No. Despite the challenges I have encountered through varying stages of my life, I know that each experience taught me something. All of them have contributed t.o the woman I am today: strong, confident, resilient and determined. |

If given the opportunity, would you choose to do things over?

I am not sure that the take another shot means that you are plunked back in time without benefit from the experience. I think that it means that you have learned what did not work and make changes so that there is a better chance. In photography class we were taught to take the shot with several F stops, to take several exposures at each F stop. This allowed many options in a short time as lighting chances quickly. In life, it is hard to work in that many options in a short period, but we are allowed to learn and move forward. I think that taking another shot means do not give up, but moving forward and trying again to get what you need; maybe after evaluating if it is something you really need or if it is a want. and if there is some other way to supply both. I agree, I am who I am because of my past. But just because something has not gone my way the first time does not mean that I will give up. Good outcomes are derived from wisdom. Wisdom is derived from less than ideal outcomes.

Ahhh... science fiction and time travel; is there anything more efficient to twist one's head into a pretzel? I'd probably have mucked things up in a DIFFERENT way. I don't have much use for my rear view mirror; except if I'm peering for the blue and red. Oh, and parking. Sounds like, 'strong, confident and determined' has worked out for you. You're luckier than many. ... is there another way to look at it Going Too Fucking Far NEW Blog Features RevealeD O O A Foolproof Method Posted Over on that NEW site O O

".. and if things don't work out, take another shot" I felt this was more similar to "if at first you don't succeed, try and try again." Not sure if it meant to start completely over. "don't throw the baby out with the bath water." I lean on many saying and analogies. It helps me understand things a little bit better. If given the opportunity to start things over, I feel my answer is no. Overall, I'm fairly happy, and I'm still working on becoming who I need to be. "your feet follow where your heart is"

I learned a long time ago to live with no regret. Experiences are learning moments and we can choose what to do with them. Sounds like you are in a 'good place' in your life now. Not everyone can say the same.

I do agree with you that I am who I am because of where I have been and what I have done. I would like to say that I have been smart enough to make all the right "choices" I made along the way but I know better - a lot of those good "choices" were really luck. But I wouldn't take any of them back. But I didn't read in to the quote that "take another shot" meant going back and starting all over again. I read it more along the lines of "first marriage didn't work out - so take another shot at marriage.
