I learned a long time ago, to accept Myself for who I am.

I don't try nor want to be anyone else.

If you can't accept Me for the strong, resilient woman that I am, that's Your problem, Not Mine. Just keep walking.

Here and in the 'real world', I stand by the choices I have made. They have all contributed to the woman I am today.

How important are other people's opinions of you? Is their approval necessary?

 Opinions and approval are not necessary or expected but are appreciated. Good opinions and approval are appreciated as an affirmation that I am doing something right. Bad opinions and disapprovals are appreciated as they afford me the opportunity to reflect on those comments affording me an opportunity to grow. Now, acceptance on the other hand is mandatory to be within MY circle. No one has to like or approve of my thoughts, ideas, behaviors, or anything else but they must respect and accept those things as who I am.

As always, I welcome you thoughtful and detailed response. Respect has to be earned and not demanded. Too many people fail to understand the difference.

 It is a problem when someone tries to be something else.. For me I only know this me, he is ,I think, normal, but in all things I think I am real. If some one can't accept reality, as you say, just keep on walking!!! I hope you have a good day.

It took me a long time to accept and recognize myself for who I am (and continue to work on), and I'd be damned if I let others dictate who they believe I "should be."
