...the job, should you choose to accept it

Ugh ...my "task a day" strategy hasn't been working so well for the last few days unless you count the little stuff. I did manage one task last night that I keep walking into the other room ...looking at the bottle ...shaking my head and still disbelieving I got as thoroughly snorked up as I did. Cherry Bacardi and Coke, and I ripped through about half of the bottle.

Honestly, I'm surprised I even survived ...I haven't had that much to drink at one time in close to 6 years probably. It wasn't that I set out to get drunk or anything, and I have a "chicken or egg" situation with it. I mixed a drink and started perving the webcams a little bit and started chatting with someone (another rarity for me ...especially now, since grey shadow figures seldom get return responses). Chicken or egg is that I'm not sure that I would have continued drinking had I not been chatting, but also doubtful I ever would have started chatting in the first place without a drink in me either. I don't "do"<b> chatrooms ...</font></b>hell, I haven't IM'ed in a couple years and don't even text on my phone all that often and tend to avoid even talking on the phone for extended periods (although I actually have valid reasons for that).

Of course ...both of those might change if I actually had a LIFE, but odds are better than not I'll start finding one again in the nearer future.

Still no word on the condo, but I wasn't really holding out to hear anything too quickly because of the holiday (and the owner doesn't live there). I had one other possibility recently and it didn't pan out, so I'm trying not to think about it too much.

I also had a crash and burn on my Christmas plans this morning that is a bit of a bummer. I had been tentatively planning on spending it in Waco with my oldest bro and his hubby, but other things have got in the way of his plans, so that's now out of the question for me. I have two other siblings in town (well, only one invited me though), but I honestly find the thought of the holidays with either one on about the same par as a root canal. I dunno ...I think I'll just wait and hope they cancel Christmas this year so I won't have to decide.

I spent a long while yesterday walking room to room and looking at furniture. One thing that occurred to me out of the blue is that pretty well regardless of where I go ...I have a beloved piece of furniture that's going to have to go: a rather large entertainment center holding my perfectly functional although totally obsolete 32' analog television. In my previous apartment, I kept it in the bedroom, but it was a PITA to watch because the TV sat lower than the edge of the bed. I hate giving it up, especially given that it was only one of maybe 4 articles of furniture that I kept, but oh well.

...I'll keep the TV mind you; I'll just need to find something taller to put it on (I have numerous existing options). I have two plasma screen TV's, but there are quite a few shows that I absolutely LOVE watching on the old relic! Pretty well anything in the old 4:3 aspect ratio, but even a lot of the older movies too. Sometimes the increase in clarity in an HDTV actually detracts from the movie; gouging yourself in the eye to decrease clarity is not recommended, although I have a few that I've still considered that option anyway (They can't ALL be cinematic gems like "Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers" "Rabid Grannies" or "Chopper Chicks in Zombietown").

My poison of choice of late has been the old Hammer horror films ...I have to admit that most of them are really REALLY bad (the good 'ol "heaving bosom" shots have merit, but the movies are often a major snorefest). They do have a lot of potential with the right chick with equally warped taste in movies, but I have not yet begun to search. I had a lady friend who loved watching the old "Dark Shadows" with me for a time a few years back ...but even that one petered out eventually. Pancakes in bed on a lazy Saturday and Looney Tunes on the big analog is nine kinds of an awesome way to spend a morning though!

Okay ...enough writing (procrastinating) ...time to go find my daily task, and maybe it won't be Mission Impossible.

Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers? I LOVE that movie!!!!

Sorry your holiday plans got funked up.... hope your find equally fun replacement plans that don't involve root-canal-like pain!

Wow ...I think you are maybe the second person who's ever even HEARD of it! There was another from around that time called "Bloodsucking Pharaohs in Pittsburg" that was a real hoot!

We'll see on the Christmas thing, but I'm sure I'll come up with something!
