I hate wearing a tie

My job now requires me to wear a tie on a regular basis. Luckily, I found the zipper ties at Wal-Mart which make this tolerable.

All the same, I still hate wearing a tie. First of all, what is the point of wearing one? I have heard that it is supposed to add a spalsh of color. I have heard that it is there to cover up the buttons on a shirt. I have heard that it is designed to being a person's eyes down to your crotch and is a phalic attracter. None of these make much sense to me.

Tieing the knot of a tie is another one of those arts that I never mastered. It is one of those things where I can make the knot, but making it look sharp, or adjusitng it, or not turning blue while wearing it, those are the points I struggle at.

But the biggest problem I have with wearing a tie, going to the bathroom. Laugh if you want, but this is an issue. Standign at a urinal you have to flip the blasted thing over a shoulder or try to hold it to the side so that it doesn't get in teh way. If sitting on a toilet, it dangles in a spot I don't want clothes dangling. I suppsoe i could look into shorter ties, but I hate shpooing for the things too. Matching colors of ties to shirts is also a problem.

So wearing a tie like this is about the only way I think is worth the effort. Even then I think it would only get in the way, but it was a fun pic.
