When do you allow the dream to die?

So a small conversation with the mini spider and I led to the title of this blog. We were laughing about how teachers hobbies have become classes at school and I joked that my class would be pornography. Laughs later I confessed I would be a director of porn instead of a performer just due to physical short comings. (oh no my secret not porn sized dick is now public, watch the women flee in outrage)

So that got me to thinking about when you allow that dream to die. I watch a good number of people numbly go about their routines and know that some of them had a kick ass dream in them at one time. Maybe it was Olympian, or artist, or rodeo clown. At what point does it seem prudent that you put away that set of parallel bars, or pack away that sculpting clay and retire your face paint.

I can argue that for some it is the family that makes it happen. That when you stop thinking about yourself and put others first your dreams are knifed in the back much like Caesar. But is it really that that takes the dream away from you or the sudden realization that the /spouse thing is way longer term than dream fufillment?

I wrestle with this notion sometimes on my nightshifts. I wonder if it is too late for me, for my generation to be great and to make our mark. But then I see my and know that I have done ok. I mean I have achieved my dream of being a semi viewed blogger of no real importance. Who can stop me know?

You don't stop. The day you stop trying, is the day it's gone. Set a plan to achieve what you want and fulfill it.
